Today, Shy’s Beauty Stop officially turns ONE, and I don’t think I can fully put into words what this means to me.

This past year has been so much bigger than selling body care products. This business has challenged me, stretched me, healed parts of me, and shown me just how much I’m capable of.

I’ve had to build while fighting battles with my own mental health. I’ve had days where showing up for myself was hard, but I still had customers to show up for. Orders to make. Labels to print. Ideas to bring to life. A dream that depended on me continuing even when I didn’t feel like I had much left to give.

I’m building a minority-owned business without coming from generational wealth. There were no handouts. No business loans. No grants. No huge budget behind me. No paid marketing carrying my name across the internet.

Just me. My vision. My creativity. My determination. A whole lot of learning, trial and error, late nights, sacrifices, prayers, and faith that what I was building could become something real.

And somehow, in ONE YEAR, Shy’s Beauty Stop has reached customers across nearly 50% of the United States. 😭

That alone blows my mind.

People who have never met me have trusted me enough to spend their hard-earned money with my business. You’ve ordered once and came back again. You’ve shared my posts, recommended me to your friends, brought SBS into your homes, gifted my products to people you love, stopped by my tables at events, sent me messages that made my entire day, and reminded me why I started.

And somewhere along the way, some of you stopped feeling like “customers.” I’ve genuinely built relationships. I’ve connected with people I probably never would have met otherwise. I’ve made new friends. I’ve walked into rooms I never imagined I would be in. I’ve watched doors open that I didn’t even know existed.
