Today's the day! πββοΈπββοΈπ
To everyone taking on 26.2 miles through the streets of Chicago today: GOOD LUCK!
Trust your training, listen to your body, soak up those Chicago crowds, and enjoy the incredible accomplishment you've worked so hard for.
I'll be cheering you on all the way to the finish line.
You've got this, runners!
Another thing they don't teach you in school: you shouldn't have to strain to p**p. π©
If pushing and straining has become part of your normal bathroom routine, it's worth paying attention to.
Here's what I want you to know. π

Marathon week is here! π
At this point, the hard work is behind you. This isn't the week to squeeze in one more hard workout or suddenly overhaul everything you've been doing.
Give your body a chance to recover. Keep moving gently. Prioritize sleep and hydration. Stick with the shoes, fuel, and routines you've already practiced.
And if something hurts, listen to your body instead of trying to "make up" for missed training.
You've spent months preparing for these 26.2 miles. Let your body arrive at the start line rested and ready.
Good luck, Chicago runners! πββοΈ

No two bodies are exactly alike, and I don't believe physical therapy should be one-size-fits-all either.
At Breving Physical Therapy, every session is one-on-one and personalized to you. I look at the whole picture: Your strength, movement, posture, breathing, lifestyle, and goals, to understand what's going on and how we can help you move forward.
Whether you're dealing with orthopedic pain, pregnancy or postpartum changes, or pelvic floor concerns, you'll have my full attention throughout your session.
If you're ready to move and feel better, I'd love to help.

Another thing they don't teach you in school: how to p*e. π½
Yes, really! How you sit and initiate urination matters.
In this video, I'm sharing a simple tip for better bathroom habits and a happier pelvic floor.

Chicago Marathon runners: you're officially in the home stretch! πββοΈπ
You've spent months building mileage and endurance. Now is a good time to pay attention to what your body has been telling you along the way.
That nagging hip? The knee that's fine for five miles but starts talking at ten? Back pain that appears after your long runs? Pelvic heaviness or leaking when you pick up the pace?
Those symptoms are worth paying attention to.
As a physical therapist specializing in both orthopedic and pelvic floor care, I can look at how your whole body is working together and help address the issues that may be interfering with your run.
You've worked hard to get to that start line. Let's help your body feel ready for it.
Schedule an appointment and tag a friend whoβs preparing for the marathon and might benefit from a visit.

You don't need a major injury to benefit from physical therapy.
Maybe your back has been bothering you every morning. Your knee isn't loving the stairs anymore. Or there's that shoulder pain you've been ignoring because it's "not that bad."
I treat orthopedic concerns throughout the body with personalized, one-on-one care designed to help you move better, build strength, and get back to the activities you enjoy.
You don't have to wait until something stops you completely.
Ready to feel better? Schedule an appointment today.
