I rarely get through a consultation without pulling up pictures or Googling something to show you. 😂 Don’t apologize for bringing 10 pictures. THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I NEED.

3. MIXING RATIO

If I had to pick the MOST important aspect of long-term blonding, it’s mixing ratio.

I’ve heard people say for YEARS that they mix to consistency. I get it… sometimes. 😉 But unless the batteries in my scale die and I have absolutely no other option, I’m weighing my product.

Bleach chemistry is tested using specific ratios. If you mix differently every time, how can you predict what’s happening inside those foils? Different ratios can change processing behavior and results.

Staining is no joke, so I gave up and painted it.

PART 8

The project that got ignored. It’s definitely on me. First we put up bead-board or shiplap whatever you call it, as a temporary fix in 2024. This gave us a storage room. Then I built some shelves that worked for awhile but never painted.

Since we moved things around, we needed a place to store endless nail polish and my product highlights. Corine had a vision to put all the polishes there.
This project really brought the entirety of the room together. I really wanted to stain the trim pieces to match my other stain colors. I love the look of natural wood. The project was just taking too long, so we decided to take the easier route and paint it all white.

I really love the final look and I’m obsessed with how this project is coming together.

“You can’t get that up and running in a month”

If you’re new here, we are finishing up a big remodel, but this isn’t the first time we got our hands dirty. Since I’m getting ready for the grand reveal, I figured it was the perfect time for a FLASHBACK.

When we first moved in this building, in September 2024, we had a lot of work cut out for just two girls. But if anything, we love a challenge.

Priority was plumbing, electrical, flooring and minor finish work. This place had sat vacant for years! Looking back I wish I took more pictures or any videos.. but I’m thankful for what I have. Not only did we both work full-time, take care of our kids, but also work endless hours inbetween on getting this place ready to be open.

In less than a month, we really turned this place around! We were up and running on Oct 1, 2024. This is how the salon looked until June 2026, when we started remodel number 2. I’m so glad I decided to film this time around.
Stay tuned for part 8, I haven’t quit, but I realized voiceovers are really hard when there’s not a moment of silence from dawn to dusk in this busy life. Thank you all so much for patiently following along.
