๐Ÿค” What Is Your Scalp Trying to Tell You?

Your scalp speaks before your hair does.

If you're experiencing changes with your hair, your scalp may already be giving you clues that something isn't right.

๐Ÿšฉ Pay attention to these signs:

๐Ÿ”น Excessive shedding
๐Ÿ”น Persistent itching
๐Ÿ”น Flaking or dandruff
๐Ÿ”น Redness or irritation
๐Ÿ”น Tenderness or soreness
๐Ÿ”น Oily or extremely dry scalp
๐Ÿ”น Thinning hair or widening part
๐Ÿ”น Bald patches or receding hairline

These symptoms aren't always "normal." They could be your body's way of telling you that something deeper needs attention.

Remember...

Don't ignore the signs or simply cover them up with products. The sooner you identify the root cause, the sooner you can begin the right treatment plan.

โœจ Your scalp deserves just as much care as your hair.

๐Ÿšจ Hair loss isn't one-size-fits-all.

Many people assume all hair loss is the same, but there are several different typesโ€”and each has its own causes and treatment approach.

Some of the most common types include:
โ€ข Androgenetic Alopecia (Pattern Hair Loss)
โ€ข Alopecia Areata
โ€ข Telogen Effluvium
โ€ข Traction Alopecia
โ€ข Cicatricial (Scarring) Alopecia

The first step toward healthy hair is understanding why your hair is thinning or shedding. Early evaluation can make a significant difference in developing the right plan for your scalp and hair health.

๐Ÿ’œ If you are experiencing any of these signs of hair loss, don't wait. Schedule a consultation today and let's find the root cause together.

Your scalp is the foundation of strong, thriving hair. If you're focusing only on your hair and not your scalp, you could be missing the root of the problem.

๐Ÿ’œ Why I Became a Trichologist

People often ask me, "Why did you become a Trichologist?"

The answer goes back to 2017.

A client came into my salon experiencing significant hair loss. She looked at me for answers... and the truth is, I didn't know how to help her.

Like many beauty professionals, I realized my education had a gap.

Beauty school taught me that if a client was shedding hair, they probably needed a protein treatment or a deep conditioner. But I quickly learned that hair loss isn't always that simple.

Hair loss can be connected to inflammation, hormones, stress, nutrition, medications, autoimmune diseases, genetics, medical conditions, and so much more.

At that moment, I made myself a promise:

I would never have to tell another client, "I don't know."

That experience changed the direction of my career.

I invested in my education and became a Certified Trichologist, studying the science of the hair and scalp, the different types of alopecia, scalp disorders, underlying health factors, and how to properly evaluate and support clients experiencing hair loss.

The more I learned, the more I realized how many people were silently struggling.

Hair loss isn't just about losing hair.

It's about losing confidence.

It's about avoiding mirrors, wearing hats every day, canceling social events, and wondering if your hair will ever grow back.

Today, my mission is much bigger than helping people achieve healthy hair.

I want to educate, empower, and restore confidence.

I also want to educate beauty professionals because I know firsthand what it's like to feel unprepared. Too many cosmetologists, barbers, and beauty professionals graduate without understanding hair loss or knowing when it's time to refer a client for further medical evaluation.

Looking back, I'm grateful for that client in 2017.

She unknowingly changed the course of my career.

She reminded me that we don't know what we don't knowโ€”and that's why I'll always believe in being a lifelong student.

Because the day you stop learning is the day you stop growing. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ”ฌ Why does a scalp analysis matter?

Because you can't treat what you can't see.

A scalp analysis allows us to look beyond the surface to identify possible inflammation, buildup, follicle health, and other underlying concerns that may be affecting your hair growth.

Healthy hair starts with understanding the root cause, not just the symptoms.

๐Ÿ’‡๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ Hair Shedding vs. Hair Loss: What's the Difference?

Have you ever looked at your brush or shower drain and wondered...

"Is this normal... or am I losing my hair?"

The truth is, hair shedding and hair loss are NOT the same thing.

โœ… Hair Shedding is a normal part of your hair's growth cycle. Most people naturally shed 50โ€“100 hairs a day, and those hairs are typically replaced with new growth.

โš ๏ธ Hair Loss, however, happens when your hair doesn't grow back as it should. You may notice thinning, a widening part, receding hairline, or bald spots. Hair loss can be caused by stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, genetics, medical conditions, medications, or scalp disorders.

โœจ The key is knowing the differenceโ€”and acting early.

The sooner you identify what's happening, the more treatment options you may have to protect your hair and scalp.

At Laphes Trichology, we don't just treat the symptomsโ€”we work to identify the root cause of your hair loss and create a personalized treatment plan designed just for you.

๐Ÿšจ Hair Loss Awareness: Don't Ignore the Early Signs ๐Ÿšจ

Hair loss rarely happens overnight. In many cases, your scalp gives you warning signs long before significant hair loss occurs.

The earlier you identify the problem, the better your chances of slowing progression and protecting your hair.

Here are 5 early signs of hair loss you shouldn't ignore:

๐Ÿ”น Excessive shedding in your brush, shower, or on your pillow.

๐Ÿ”น A widening part or thinning areas that weren't there before.

๐Ÿ”น An itchy, tender, flaky, or inflamed scalp.

๐Ÿ”น Hair that has become noticeably finer or weaker over time.

๐Ÿ”น Receding hairline or bald spots that continue to grow.

Hair loss is often linked to underlying factors such as stress, hormones, nutrition, medications, medical conditions, genetics, or scalp disorders. Finding the cause is the first step toward creating an effective treatment plan.

At Laphes Trichology, we specialize in identifying the root cause of hair lossโ€”not just treating the symptoms.

โœจ Don't wait until it's too late. Early intervention matters.

๐Ÿ“ž Schedule your Hair & Scalp Consultation today and let us help you take the first step toward healthier hair.
