Come join Angel Hunter of “The Braid Standard” and learn how to hair braid! This exciting course will teach proper techniques, twists, and knots!

This course will be an 8-week session, and it will start on Tuesday, September 15. Tuesdays, Sept. 15 - Nov. 3 from 5 to 6 p.m. This event is for ages 10 to 13. $80/Resident, $85/Non-Resident right in the Oak Park Recreation Community Center💜💚🧡

Back in 2020–2021, I was charging $40 for a set of knotless braids. 😭

At the time, I was just happy to be doing hair, building clientele, and figuring things out as I went.
But here’s the part people don’t always see: I’m a self-operated business owner. There was no one handing me a manual on how to perfect my craft or telling me exactly what techniques to learn next.

I spent YEARS teaching myself. Learning different braiding techniques. Practicing. Watching. Studying. Retwisting my approach. Figuring out how to make my parts cleaner, my installs neater, my work last longer, and my overall service better.
And I didn’t just grow as a braider — I grew as a business owner.

The $40 version of me had potential. The woman charging up to $400 today has years of experience, knowledge, technique, consistency, trial and error, and investment behind her.

I’m officially offering braiding classes for students who are ready to learn, improve their technique, become more confident behind the chair, and take their own braiding business to the next level.

You don’t have to spend years trying to figure out what works when I can show you the techniques and shortcuts I’ve learned along the way.
