Somnium Therapeutics
A Massage Therapy practice dedicated to the all encompassing health of clients.
Why must all takes be “hot” ? I just want to educate the public about bodywork and massage therapy while also creating an online space for people to feel the vibe of the studio before they come in! Can I please just stick to lukewarm takes?
Sorry guys I really just can’t help myself sometimes. I can’t play it in the session room but I WILL play it everywhere else.
Pressure is subjective. What feels like “deep pressure” to one person can feel completely different to another, and even the same body can want something different from session to session. Good bodywork is about communication, awareness, and listening to the body in front of me.

Your shoulders might be stressed before you even realize you are.
Stress can cause the body to brace, often showing up as tension in the neck, jaw, and shoulders.
Next time you notice your shoulders creeping toward your ears, pause.
Don’t force them down. Just notice.
Your body is always communicating. 🌙
Meet The Contrast Therapy Experience AKA The Sanctuary. Operated by our shared space through The Skin Sanctum and available to pair with your massage therapy session at Somnium Therapeutics.
We recommend booking contrast therapy BEFORE your massage so you can move from heat and cold into intentional bodywork feeling refreshed and ready to receive.
Want to do it afterward? You can, unless you received cupping. If your session included cupping, we recommend skipping contrast therapy that day.
✨ Book through Skin Sanctum, the link in our bio, or ask us about booking THE Contrast Therapy Experience in-office alongside your Somnium Therapeutics session.
Pair your sauna + cold plunge with therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, or nervous system-focused bodywork for a more intentional wellness experience.

✦ A Little Studio Update ✦
We have a little update for you!
Over the next few weeks, Somnium Therapeutics will be transitioning our booking platform to Boulevard. This new system will make it much easier for us to coordinate your massage and bodywork sessions alongside sauna, cold plunge, and other care services at The Skin Sanctum.
Everything should be fully integrated by the end of August and into the beginning of September. You may notice a few changes as we make the transition, but rest assured:
The care stays the same. The services stay the same. The pricing stays the same.
The only thing really changing is the look and feel of our booking experience.
A small but important housekeeping note ✦
As we move into our new system, we are also getting a little more serious about paperwork.
All clients MUST have completed intake forms and agree to our studio policies before receiving services. This helps us protect you, our practitioners, and the studio, while making sure everyone understands what to expect when they walk through our doors.
We appreciate you taking a few extra minutes to complete these forms and keep your information up to date. We promise it helps everything run much more smoothly behind the scenes. ♡
Have you checked out our new website?
We’ve been giving our little corner of the internet some love, too.
Our FAQ page has been updated with answers to some of the questions we hear most often, and we’ve also added a new page where you can request a mobile event with Somnium.
Mobile bodywork is perfect for things like:
✦ Bachelor & bachelorette parties
✦ Musicians before or after a concert
✦ Employee appreciation & wellness events
✦ Festivals, private gatherings, and pop-ups
If you have an event in mind, send us a request and let’s see what we can create.
And, as always... tell your people ✦
Our referral program is still active! If you’ve been loving your time with us, please share Somnium with your friends and family. Referrals mean so much to our small business and help us continue to grow our community.
Finally, September and October bookings are officially open and filling up QUICKLY. If you know you’ll want some time on our tables this fall, we highly recommend getting on the schedule now.
Thank you for continuing to trust us with your care, for supporting our little business, and for growing alongside us.
Same care. Same practitioners. Same services. Just a fresh new look.
With gratitude,
Val- Somnium Therapeutics ✦

Deep tissue massage isn’t “bad.” Your massage therapist just might not like doing it. 👀
There’s a difference between educating a client about what their body needs and telling them a modality is inherently bad because it isn’t your preferred way of working.
As a massage therapist, I’m not here to convince every client that deep tissue is the answer. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn’t. It depends on your goals, your tissues, your nervous system, your pain experience, and what your body responds to.
And yes, deep pressure ≠ better results. But that doesn’t mean deep tissue massage is inherently harmful or something everyone should avoid.
A good therapist should be able to explain why they’re recommending a particular approach, not shame you for asking for something different.
At Somnium Therapeutics, we specialize in personalized, trauma-informed massage and bodywork for people dealing with chronic pain, muscular tension, stress, and nervous system dysregulation. Your session should be based on your body, not your therapist’s personal preferences.
So if you’ve ever been told, “You don’t need deep tissue,” without anyone actually explaining why… this one’s for you. 🖤
Save this for your next massage appointment and send it to someone who needs to hear it.

Snag the story spots when they arise but just let it be known that we will need information from you if you haven’t been seen with us before! Thanks to the other MTs who have been talking about booking transparency!

Unpopular opinion:
🚫 Don’t drink before your massage.
If you paid for a massage, why make it less effective?
Hydrate. Show up feeling as best you can (hangovers not included). Get your money’s worth.
