Some of the most valuable lessons I've learned didn't come from something new. They came from an ancient healing tradition that completely changed how I care for women.

When I was introduced to Maya Abdominal Therapy, I realized this wasn't simply another bodywork technique. It is holistic womb and abdominal bodywork rooted in the traditional healing wisdom of the Maya. Its focus is simple yet profound... support the natural health and function of the abdomen and pelvis, recognizing that these structures influence far more than reproductive health alone.

The abdomen is home to the digestive organs, reproductive organs, lymphatic vessels, nerves, blood supply, fascia, and connective tissue. When these systems move, communicate, and circulate well, the body has a stronger foundation for health.

This potent, hands-on work is often sought by women experiencing painful or irregular periods, fertility challenges, digestive concerns, constipation, IBS, postpartum recovery, pelvic discomfort, or the changes that come with menopause. Many women also tell me they leave feeling more connected to their bodies and relieved to finally find an approach that looks at the whole person instead of just isolated symptoms.

One of the things I hear most is, "Why haven't I ever heard of this before?"

This work has been passed through generations of traditional Maya healing, yet many women have never been told that holistic womb and abdominal bodywork is even an option.

I believe women deserve to understand their bodies and know the full range of supportive care available to them. Maya Abdominal Therapy isn't about replacing medical care, it's about complementing it with hands-on support that honors the body's innate ability to restore balance.

If you're looking for a more holistic approach to reproductive, digestive, or pelvic wellness, I'd be honored to help you explore whether Maya Abdominal Therapy is right for you.

Respect the pH.

If you've followed my work for any length of time, you've probably heard me say this before.

A healthy va**nal ecosystem begins with a healthy pH.

During the reproductive years, a healthy va**nal pH is typically between 3.8–4.5. For this infusion, I'm aiming for approximately 4.3—and yes, I'm testing every step on camera.

Why?

Because that naturally acidic environment helps nourish beneficial Lactobacillus bacteria, which then creates lactic acid, lowering ph and is your body's first line of defense, while making the environment far less welcoming for many unwanted organisms.

Before we focus on eliminating every "bad" microbe, we need to ask a better question:

How do we create an environment where the good bacteria thrive?

For me, that starts with respecting the ecosystem.

The Vagician's first rule: Respect the pH. 🧙‍♀️🌿

I haven't pulled cards in ages, I like this deck because it has a yes card. I quieted my mind, asked my question as a shuffled, I asked that my answer be in the first 3 cards on top. Do you think I willed the yes card, and what did I ask?

The Vagician is back in the kitchen. 🌿😂

This time I’m combining a strong green tea infusion with aloe and green tea hydrosol.

So what exactly is a hydrosol? It’s the aromatic plant water created during distillation, carrying some of the plant’s water-soluble and volatile constituents in a much gentler form than an essential oil.

But here’s the bigger lesson…

One of the most foundational pieces of va**nal health is pH.

A healthy va**nal environment during the reproductive years is naturally acidic—generally around 3.8–4.5. For this preparation, I’m aiming for approximately 4.3

Why does that matter?

That acidic environment helps support the beneficial bacteria that make up the va**nal microbiome while making the environment less hospitable to many unwanted organisms.

Before we start throwing things at va**nal symptoms, we need to understand the ecosystem we’re working with.

The Vagician’s first rule: respect the pH. 🌿🧙‍♀️

And yes… I’ll show you exactly what I’m mixing.

For more than a decade, this lineage-based bodywork training has been largely absent from Australia.

This August 16–21, I'm deeply honored to return and share the Maya Abdominal Therapy lineage on the Tweed Coast for the first time since around 2015.

This is not a trend or a technique learned over a weekend. It is a body of hands-on wisdom that has been preserved through teachers, mentors, and tradition and then refined through nearly 40 years of my own clinical practice supporting women's health.

If you're a massage therapist, midwife, naturopath, chiropractor, acupuncturist, pelvic health practitioner, or another licensed professional ready to add a truly transformative modality to your practice, this may be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

The circle is nearly full, and one place remains.

If you've been feeling the nudge, trust it.

DM me and well see if we're a fit and I'll send you the details. More info in links in bio.

She'd tried a lot to feel better, various treatments and approaches over time, a progesterone IUD, 90 days of bioidentical progesterone. Some relief, but the bloating and back pain stayed.
One Maya Abdominal Therapy session later, her back pain was gone.
Nobody had looked at her retroverted uterus. They said it wasn't related.
If you're dealing with any odd or unexplained gynecological complaints, bloating, cycle issues, pelvic pain, anything that's been called "normal" but doesn't feel normal to you — book a session with me. You'd be amazed what hands-on treatment can do.

What inspired me to feed my va**na green tea? And even before the short case study here green tea has been studied for its amazing microbiome enhancing qualities which is another reason to feed your va**na green tea. Green tea contains food so to speak needed for lactobacillus to thrive.

What does the Vagician put in her va**na? 😂🌿
When I want the most direct local contact with the va**nal and cervical tissues, I reach for an herbal va**nal infusion, not a va**nal steam and not simply taking the herbs by mouth.
Today I’m experimenting on myself with gunpowder green tea, rich in catechins studied for their antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, including fascinating research around HPV and cervical cell changes.
And I’m adding a little frankincense, traditionally used for inflammation and now being researched for its antimicrobial and potential anticancer properties.
My many years into working with women’s natural health, and I’m still researching, experimenting and learning from the plants.
The Vagician will report back. 🧙‍♀️🌿
For education and a peek into my own personal practice, not a treatment recommendation.

Every training ends the same way, 😭 a room full of practitioners who will never look at women's health the same again.

My goal has never been, to simply teach another set of techniques.

My goal is to help practitioners deepen their understanding, trust their hands, sharpen their intuition, and carry forward a tradition of hands-on healing that has supported women for generations.

After nearly 40 years in practice, I still believe the greatest impact isn't what happens during the training. It's what happens after, when these practitioners return to their communities and begin changing the lives of the women who walk through their doors.

Congratulations to our newest Maya Abdominal Practitioner graduates from our training with the Womb School in Delray Beach, Florida.

• Jasmine Davidson () – Key West, Florida
• Ana Ovares Ugalde (ArteSAna Monteverde | Jardín de la Diosa) – Monteverde, Costa Rica
• Julia Caira () – Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
• Michelle Cerami (East Coast Midwifery) – Boca Raton, Florida
• Daja Cook – Deerfield Beach, Florida

If you're in their area and are looking for a practitioner trained in Maya Abdominal Massage Therapy, to assist with any Digestive and gynecological complaints, I encourage you to reach out to them. You're in skilled, compassionate hands.

To my newest practitioners...thank you for your curiosity, your commitment, and your willingness to grow. It has been an honor to guide you, and I'm excited to see the difference you'll make for the men and women you serve.

If you're a licensed Massage Therapist, Midwife, Naturopathic Doctor, Acupuncturist, CNM, RN, OT, MD, PT, Chiropractor, or another licensed healthcare practitioner ready to expand your practice and deepen your hands-on skills, I'll be teaching my next Training in Queensland, Australia and Phuket, Thailand this August 2026.

There are only 2 spots remaining in Australia.

If you're ready to take the next step, you'll find all the details through the link in my bio.
