I feel like today is a good excuse to get a little sappy for a second because I am genuinely SO grateful that I get to do what I do. Like, I literally get to spend my days talking about skincare, playing with products, helping people feel good in their skin, and connecting with some of the sweetest humans. How freaking lucky am I?!

To my clients, thank you. Seriously. Thank you for trusting me with your skin (and your secrets🤫), for letting me be a small part of your self-care, for supporting my little business and shopping small, for referring your friends, and for continuing to show up for me. I know there are a million places you could go, and the fact that you choose to spend your time and money with ME is something I will never take for granted. Liiiike never ever! 🥹

One of the things I love most about this job is that it’s about SO much more than skincare. I love getting to know you, hearing about your lives, celebrating your wins, and creating a space where you can just relax and do something for yourself for a little while. I am literally obsessed with the relationships I’ve gotten to build through this little business, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop being grateful for that.

Owning a small business is legit no joke sometimes 😂, but getting to do something I’m so passionate about, right here in my little corner of Danville, makes it all worth it.

This is my current skincare routine as a licensed esthetician in Danville, Virginia, who is constantly treating my own crusty and dusty skin— where my dry skin girlies at?! 😂

TLDR; MY CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE 🤍and why I’m currently OBSESSED with every single step…

Part of my job is to constantly test new products and figure out what my skin is actually loving and what is worth introducing to my guys and gals at The Little House. And let me tell you, this routine... she’s been GOOD to me!

And I think what I love most is that every product has a PURPOSE. I’m not just throwing a million things on my face because they’re pretty.

Here is my step-by-step routine:

✨ Wilder North Botanicals Primrose Cleansing Oil

My first cleanse + one of my favorite products for keeping my skin feeling nourished instead of stripped. It breaks down sunscreen, makeup, and buildup while still respecting the skin barrier. My skin feels CLEAN after this, but never ever that tight, squeaky-clean feeling that we’ve somehow been taught is a good thing.

✨ GlyMed+ Peptide Firming Cleanser

My second cleanse and honestly… this one makes washing my face feel luxurious. 😂 It’s creamy, hydrating, packed with peptides + botanicals, and leaves my skin feeling ridiculously soft.

I especially love it because it starts the “treatment” process of my routine! It’s packed with skin-loving ingredients and anti-aging benefits and is considered the GlyMed+ “red carpet” cleanser. Basically... we’re not just washing our face and calling it a day.

✨ Omnilux Contour LED Mask

OKAY. NEW ADDITION. 😍

I’ve officially added the Omnilux Contour LED Mask into my routine and I am LITERALLY👏🏼OBSESSED👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.

First things first, she’s FDA approved to treat fine lines and wrinkles! If “anti-aging” is a primary skin goal for you, add this to your routine liiiike yesterday!

I use it on clean, dry skin BEFORE applying all of my skincare so the light can actually reach my skin without having a bunch of products sitting between the LEDs and my face.

It uses red + near-infrared LED light, and this is one of those things that I love because it isn’t about some overnight miracle. It’s about CONSISTENCY. Regular LED use can support collagen production, help calm the appearance of redness and inflammation, and just generally support healthier-looking skin over time.

And honestly? It takes me like 10 minutes to sit there and do nothing. 😂

If you know me, you know I love a skincare routine that feels like a little ritual AND actually has a purpose.

✨ Lunar Logic Wild Water — Clary Sage

This is my little skin ritual moment. 🌿 I love a good hydrosol because it gives my skin that first hit of hydration and makes everything that comes after feel better.

Plus, the whole experience of misting my face with something that was literally distilled from a plant? I’m here for it.

And ESPECIALLY going into Fall + Winter in Southern Virginia, adding more hydration into your routine is SO important. We all love those crispy cool mornings... but none of us love feeling dried out and crusty because of them. 😂

Spritz your skin with this and BAM! Hydration heaven.

✨ Free + True Milk + Tansy Bi-Phase Essence

THIS ONE. 😍 If your skin is dehydrated, feeling tight, or just generally cranky, pay attention.

It combines water-based hydration with lightweight botanical lipids, so it’s giving my skin both hydration AND nourishment in one step. My skin feels instantly softer, calmer, and more comfortable after this.

Heavier than water but lighter than an oil — this bi-phase is in a category of its own!

It provides barrier support, instant hydration, visibly reduces redness, and helps prime the skin for all of the products that follow.

✨ GlyMed+ Ultra Hydro Gel

10% hyaluronic acid = 💦💦💦

This is my lightweight hydration powerhouse. It sinks in quickly, plumps up that dehydrated look, and gives my skin that juicy, bouncy feeling without making me feel greasy.

She’s also VERY soothing! The gel consistency provides a menthol-y coolness to the skin that I just LOVE! 🧊

I especially love layering this under my richer moisturizing products. If you’re a dry skin girlie who is afraid of feeling like a greasy little glazed donut after your skincare... THIS is the kind of hydration I’m talking about. 😂

✨ Wilder North Botanicals Honey Balm

This is the seal it all in step. 🍯

She is THICCC! Which, for dry skin girlies like myself, I am OBSESSED!!!

I’ve been using this honey balm for YEARS and she’s truly unbeatable. It’s rich, nourishing, and helps keep all that beautiful hydration from disappearing into thin air.

HOWEVERRRR... if you prefer something lightweight — this is -not- your IT GIRL.

I’d trade this one out for GlyMed+’s Daily Repair Cream or Oxygen Cream if you want something that still gives you moisture + nourishment without quite as much richness.

✨ Odacité Tinted SPF Mineral Drops

Because all of this beautiful skincare would be pretty pointless (like LITERALLY) if I skipped sunscreen. 🙃

SPF 50 + mineral protection + a gorgeous skin-like tint = my kind of morning multitasker.

It evens everything out, gives me a little glow, and means I can skip foundation most days. And if you know me at all, I am NOT a makeup girly.

However, this tinted SPF gives me that “I put effort into my skin” look while simultaneously giving me a dewy, glowy finish.

✨ Odacité Tinted Lip Serums

And YES, I’m protecting my lips too.

SPF 40 + nourishing oils + a little bit of color?? I keep one in my bag, one at the studio, and one basically everywhere else. 😂

SPF for protection, squalene for hydration, and vitamin E for antioxidant + nourishing support.

A little gloomy-weather PSA because I know someone needs to hear it: please don’t retire your SPF just because summer is over. 😂☁️

Think of your skin like a houseplant sitting by a beautiful window— it’s still getting sun even on the gloomiest of days. UV rays can still reach your skin through the clouds, so keep that SPF on the counter and make it part of your everyday routine.

Rainy, gloomy, spooky… it doesn’t matter, the SPF is still coming with us. 👻🧴

little august recap for my besties💋

a month that flew by at the speed of light but was so full of celebrations, trips to the farmers market, live music, patio dinners, drinks with a view, rooftop hangs, and too much caffeine.

can’t say i’ll miss the summer months because i truly am a “ber” month girly through and through. however, this year i made it a legitimate goal to embrace the summer months while they lasted and i’m so glad i did!!!
