Every scalp is unique, but working with scar tissue requires an entirely different mindset.
Where normal skin accepts pigment consistently, a scar will often push back. The most common error in these situations is forcing the skin — increasing pressure or overworking the area in an attempt to make the pigment stick. That approach rarely ends well.
In difficult zones, precision beats aggression every time. Slow down, adjust your needle configuration, alter your stretch and entry angle, and work conservatively.
Treat the first session as an assessment. Let the scalp fully heal, evaluate retention, and let the healed result guide your next move.
Respect the tissue. Adapt to what is in front of you.
