When my mother passed four years ago, I tried to force myself back into content creation, but I couldn’t. It took every ounce of energy I had to show up for work every morning. The thought of making anything extra felt completely daunting.

A few months ago, my therapist shared a phrase that changed my perspective: grief awareness.

I realized grief isn’t something I have to outrun or fix; it’s always going to be here, and I’ve embraced that. I’ve learned that I can miss my mom deeply while still making space to live, create, and move forward.

The Journey: Lunch Downtown Dallas 🏙️✨
There is a distinct shift that happens when you decide to stop waiting for the perfect time or a companion to enjoy the places you love. I love leaning into the practice of the soft life, picking up my camera, leaving the desk behind, and walking over to Dakota’s for a quiet solo lunch.
My waiter, Jared, recommended the chicken parmesan, and it was absolutely spectacular. I treated myself to two scoops of chocolate ice cream for dessert, lingering over my meal without any pressure to rush. This ease is exactly why I love living in the heart of downtown.
I captured the entire afternoon in my latest video! To get back into a consistent creative routine, I’ve been practicing my filming with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Camera. It is incredibly small, steady, and convenient to slide into a pocket or bag for a quick outing.
