Somebody might get mad at me for this one, but I said what I said. 😂

Natural does not automatically mean healthy.

Relaxed does not automatically mean damaged.

And a sew in, wig, crochet or braid isn’t automatically “protective” just because we call it a protective style.

The real question is: How are you caring for the hair underneath?

I’m not here to convince every woman to wear her hair the same way. Girl, wear the bob. Wear the 30 inches. Get the relaxer. Rock your curls. Put that wig ON. 😂

I just want the hair underneath to still be healthy when we take it off.

The girls that prioritize healthy hair… get it. 💕

Tape ins OUT, relaxer refreshed, ends trimmed, healthy hair still IN. 😍👏🏽

This is the part of extensions people don’t talk about enough. The takedown matters just as much as the install.

We carefully removed her tape ins with the goal of protecting her natural hair and preserving her length. Then we moved into her relaxer retouch, focusing on the new growth, followed by a healthy trim to clean up those ends and keep her length looking full.

✨ Gentle tape in removal
✨ Hair and scalp assessment
✨ Relaxer retouch on new growth
✨ Conditioning and strengthening treatment
✨ Healthy trim
✨ Length retention and healthy hair maintenance

And THIS is what I want to see when those extensions come out. 👀😍

From Natalie’s Chair: Extensions should enhance your look, not leave you scared to see your natural hair when they come down. And baby, holding onto damaged ends just to say your hair is long? We don’t do that either. 😂✂️

Tape ins today, relaxed hair tomorrow. Either way, the hair underneath is always the priority.

I know you paid good money for them braids, sis. But eventually they gotta GO. 😂

Protective does not mean permanent.

Your scalp still needs cleansing. Your natural hair still needs moisture. And when buildup, tangling and dryness start moving in, baby, that style is no longer doing what we hired her to do. 😭

Take the style down. Treat the hair. Let that scalp breathe. Then we can be cute again.

Be honest. What’s the LONGEST you’ve ever kept a protective style? 👀😂

Crochet, but make it CUSTOM. 😍🔥

This isn’t your basic crochet appointment, baby. 😂 This look was created using our Hair Glam’d Raw Crochet Feather Hair, customized in color and serving 20 inches of soft, flowing GLAM.

The best part? She gets to switch up her color and enjoy the length while her natural hair stays tucked away and protected underneath. No need to chemically color her natural hair just to get a whole new vibe. 👏🏽

✨ Custom color
✨ 20” Raw Crochet Feather Hair
✨ Lightweight and full of movement
✨ Natural hair protected underneath
✨ Soft, feminine finish

From Natalie’s Chair: You can switch the color, switch the length and completely reinvent your look while still prioritizing the health of your natural hair. 💕

Because sometimes you don’t need to change YOUR hair… you just need the right hair to change the LOOK. 😏🔥

Now tell me, are we doing custom color or keeping it classic? 👀💗

Girl, your edges should NOT have to clock out so your install can lay flat. 😭

Every head cannot get the same braid down. I’m looking at your density, your hairline, your growth pattern and where YOUR hair needs less tension.

Flat is cute. Healthy is the priority.

From Natalie’s Chair: Every head is different. Your braid pattern should be customized to your hair, not copied from somebody else’s. 💕

Flattest braid down or healthiest foundation? 👀

Half up, half down… but the protection is FULL coverage. 😏💕

Baby, a quick weave does NOT mean we’re just putting glue wherever and hoping for the best. 😂

For this half up, half down quick weave, I created protective layers between the glue and her natural hair, so the adhesive never has to touch her actual strands.

And that ponytail? Sewn in. 👏🏽

Why? Because I’m protecting her natural length and reducing unnecessary tension and breakage while still giving her the look she came for.

Because at Hair Glam’d, we don’t believe you have to choose between CUTE hair and HEALTHY hair.

You can have the style, the inches, the ponytail AND keep the hair underneath protected. 💕

From Natalie’s Chair:
The style is temporary. Your natural hair has to be there when we take it down. PERIOD. 😂

Who else loves a half up, half down but wants their real hair protected underneath? 👀💗

A fresh maintenance appointment can make all the difference. 😍✨

This sew-in didn’t need to come out. It just needed a little love.

For today’s maintenance, I refreshed her style with a rod set to create soft, bouncy curls that move naturally. I added a few warm curls throughout to give it extra definition and that effortless, layered finish.

The best part?

As the curls begin to fall over the next few days, they’ll soften into a beautiful, full-bodied look with plenty of movement and versatility.

That’s why I love rod sets for sew-in maintenance. You get longevity, bounce, and a style that gets even prettier as the week goes on.

Healthy hair doesn’t stop after the install. Regular maintenance is what keeps your sew-in looking fresh while protecting the natural hair underneath.

💬 Are you choosing soft bouncy curls or sleek and straight for your next sew-in refresh? 👀✨

Some weeks I’m in my bob era. 💁🏽‍♀️
The next week, I want 30 inches. 😂

Ladies… we are allowed to change our minds.

That’s the beauty of healthy hair. When your hair is cared for, you can switch it up without sacrificing your length or your confidence.

At Hair Glam’d, I don’t believe you have to pick just one look. My job is to keep your hair healthy enough to wear the bob, the sew in, the wig, the curls, the silk press, or the long glam hair whenever the mood changes.

Because healthy hair gives you options.

📂 HAIR FILES #005 | ITCHY SCALP

Protective style doesn’t mean…

Ignore your scalp.

If your scalp is itchy after a fresh install…

That’s your scalp asking for attention.

An itchy scalp can come from:

✔ Product buildup
✔ Dryness
✔ Lack of scalp maintenance

Healthy protective styles still require healthy scalp care.

That’s why I recommend cleansing your scalp and keeping it hydrated with Hair Glam’d Daily Nourishing Oil.

Because healthy hair starts before the install…and continues after you leave my chair.
