Laurie Metcalf played Mary Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, and when Young Sheldon needed a younger version of the same character, her real-life daughter Zoe Perry got the job. Perry actually had to audition for the role, and it was Jim Parsons’ husband Todd Spiewak who first suggested producers take a look at her.

This also wasn’t the first time it happened. Perry had previously played a younger version of Metcalf’s character Jackie on Roseanne too.
