What is a cannula?

A cannula is a flexible, blunt-tipped tube that we can use instead of a traditional needle for certain aesthetic treatments.

Why do we use a cannula?

-Can often treat a larger area through a single entry point

Ever wonder how Botox wears off and why it might feel like your injector always needs to do her own botox?

Botox works by temporarily blocking the communication between the nerve and the muscle. Specifically, it prevents the release of acetylcholine, the chemical messenger that tells your muscles to contract.

Over time, your body naturally recovers. The nerve forms new connections, and acetylcholine increases and is once again able to reach the muscle. As this happens, muscle movement gradually returns.

This is why Botox doesn’t suddenly “wear off” overnight. Instead, you’ll notice a slow return of movement over several weeks.
