I showed up fully expecting to order my usual... and then The Sicilian Butcher changed the entire menu.

I’m not mad about it though because it gave me the chance to step outside my comfort zone and discover a few new favorites. Between the build-your-own pasta, the refreshed cocktail menu, and the atmosphere, this visit reminded me why it’s earned a spot in my date night rotation.

My only regret is I didn’t get to try the New Sicilian Sodas, which means I’ll be back very soon.

I won’t lie, since I don’t get braids or twists anymore, sleeping and styling this was an adjustment.

Having locs has made long-term protective styles almost unbearable for me now.

These products from were so good, though! They helped me achieve this look while keeping my hair moisturized and protected underneath the extensions. Braiding hair can really pull moisture from your natural hair, so prepping your hair beforehand is a must.

If you’ve been thinking about trying braids or twists over your locs, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot! Next time, though, I’d probably choose a lighter-textured braiding hair to make the style a little more comfortable.
