That sudden warmth under the UV/LED lamp is called a heat spike. As builder gel cures, it goes through a chemical reaction called polymerization, which naturally releases heat. Itβs more noticeable with builder gel, thicker layers, or sensitive natural nails and usually lasts just a few seconds.
A heat spike doesnβt automatically mean something is wrong with your nails or your manicure. However, if the heat feels too intense, let your nail tech know and remove your hand from the lamp for a moment. Using thinner layers and the proper curing settings can also help minimize the sensation.
