These combination brows were originally created with microblading + shading, and after nearly four years, it was time for a color boost.

For this refresh, we transitioned to nano strokes + soft shading—bringing back definition, adding fresh dimension through the fronts and body, and restoring that soft, polished finish without starting from scratch.

This client came to me with previous permanent makeup that had been through several sessions of laser removal before we could begin creating these soft, natural hair strokes.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that old brows can always be covered. If previous work is too saturated, too cool/ashy, or has shifted significantly in tone, simply tattooing over it won’t create realistic results—it often makes them appear darker, muddier, and less natural.

Sometimes, the best investment is taking the time to remove enough of the old pigment first so we have a clean canvas to work with. ✨

Every set of brows is customized, and sometimes the journey to beautiful brows starts with knowing when not to tattoo over existing work.
