There is a reason we tell clients to avoid caffeine before a wax. This can make the wax more painful causing the nerves to amplify their reactivity. That caffeine can wait till post wax if possible.

Don't skip aftercare. Always make sure you have products on hand and use them as directed by your esthetician. It is easier to prevent ingrowns than it is to treat them.
