In the next few weeks, I'm answering some of the most asked questions that I get as a licensed massage therapist (LMT). Here is the next one:
DO YOU EVER NEED TO GET RECERTIFIED/RELICENSED?
Yes! Every two years, I need to pay for re-licensure. I also need, at least, 24 credits of CEUs (Continuing Education Units). Some of my classes that I've taken in the past year have been, CPR (I have had to use CPR once and I never let that lapse), Cupping Therapy, Massage Therapy for Breast Cancer Patients, Massage Therapy for those with Diabetes, Helping Veterans with Massage Therapy, and so much more!

How many of my clients enjoy a good cup’o’coffee regularly? How do you take it? Show us your favorite mug in the comments below!
Interesting fact: this licensed massage therapist doesn’t really like the taste of coffee, but loves the smell of it. 🙂

A few appointments available this week, and several available next week!
I am reposting something I shared the other day, because I feel that people missed seeing it due to a photo hiding most of my words.
"In the next few weeks, I've decided to answer some of the most asked questions that I get as a licensed massage therapist (LMT). Here is the first one:
Did you go to school to become a massage therapist?
Yes, yes I did! I first attended a 16-week Deep Muscle Massage course. This was before you needed to even have a license, or take classes, to be a massage therapist! It was an eye opening course and I learned so many new things from it. The place was in Bethlehem, PA called, "Health Options Institute". At the end of the 16 Saturdays (I was still in college full time when I took these classes) I received a certificate in Deep Muscle Massage.
Then, later on, when I decided that I wanted to do this full time, the rules had changed and so I decided to go back and get my license! I went to college, "Northampton Community College", also in Bethlehem, PA, and took ALL of the classes and clinicals required, before the exams, needed to become a licensed massage therapist. Those classes included Anatomy & Physiology (and labs), as well as business courses, and Kinesiology (to name a few other classes).
Was it worth it? YES! "
Now today, I will answer a second question that goes along with it:
How much did it cost and how long is the program?
Well, The short answer would be that it took just less than 2 years to receive a proper education to be able to become a licensed massage therapist. It cost almost $15,000- at the time.
Now, the longer answer, which will be touched on in another post, is that I am STILL paying for my education! I still take classes every year to continue to be the best LMT that I can be for my clients!💆
