Social workers should make an effort to stay informed about issues and concerns affecting their communities.
Flock cameras and other automatic license plate readers (ALPRs), which were originally developed as public-safety tools, have raised concerns about privacy, government surveillance, data sharing, and accountability.
As social workers, staying informed about these technologies can help us better understand how they may affect the individuals and communities we serve and allow us to advocate for policies that protect individual privacy.
