When did we start to lose the magic of summer?
One of the things I've always loved about Ohio is how friendly people are. Compared to many places I've visited, a smile is often returned, and a simple "good morning" is answered.
Summer is the perfect time to bring back that neighborly spirit. Smile at people. Say hello. Lend a hand when someone needs it.
Not long ago, we saw a woman stranded with her car, and four cars drove right past before we stopped to help. It was a reminder that kindness seems to be disappearing—but it doesn't have to.
Being kind costs so little, and you walk away feeling better for it. Let's make this summer a little friendlier, one act of kindness at a time.
