Hey Beautiful! đ
This week, weâre talking about PROTECTâand today weâre turning that idea toward something worth protecting every day:
Your skin.
Meet zinc oxide. đĄď¸
You may know it as the ingredient you see on sunscreen labels, but this humble mineral has more than one protective role.
âď¸ UV Protection
Zinc oxide is a mineral UV filter used in sunscreens to help protect against both UVA and UVB radiation.
UVA penetrates more deeply into the skin and is associated with premature skin aging and long-term skin damage.
UVB is the primary cause of sunburn and can also damage the skin.
And hereâs something important:
đĽď¸ UV exposure doesnât require a bright, sunny day.
UVA can be present year-round and can pass through clouds and, to some extent, glass. So protecting your skin isnât something to think about only when youâre headed to the beach!
But zinc oxideâs story doesnât stop with the sunâŚ
đĄď¸ Skin Protection
Zinc oxide can form a physical barrier on the skin, helping shield it from moisture, friction, and external irritants.
đż Soothing
Itâs commonly used in topical products formulated to help soothe and protect irritated skin.
đŹ And thereâs moreâŚ
Zinc oxide has also demonstrated antimicrobial properties, giving this little mineral another fascinating layer to its story.
One little mineral.
More than one way to protect.
And thatâs what we love about ingredient education.
We donât want to simply tell you that an ingredient is âgood.â
We want you to understand why itâs there.
Because knowing what youâre putting on your skin is part of protecting yourself, too. đ
Building trust, one ingredient at a time.
10/06/2026
Sometimes we think protecting ourselves means putting up walls.
But sometimes protection looks much simpler.
It looks like protecting your time.
Protecting your peace.
Protecting your energy.
Protecting the thingsâand peopleâthat matter most to you.
And Iâm learning that one the hard way.
The weekend flew by. There were things I wanted to get done, things I needed to get done, and suddenlyâŚ
Here we are. Monday. đ
Maybe the lesson isnât that we need to do more.
Maybe we need to get a little better at protecting the time we already have.
Because every yes we give to something means weâre saying no to something else.
So this week, ask yourself:
What do I need to protect?
Maybe itâs an hour for yourself.
Maybe itâs your morning routine.
Maybe itâs your peace.
Maybe itâs time with someone you love.
Whatever it is, take one small step to protect it.
And rememberâŚ
You donât have to protect everything.
Just protect what matters.

Refreshing Peppermint
Have you ever noticed that feeling you get when something peppermint touches your skin?
Cool. Crisp. Fresh. Refreshing.
But hereâs the fun partâŚ
Peppermint isnât necessarily making your skin colder.
So why does it feel cold?
Peppermint naturally contains menthol, a compound responsible for much of that familiar cooling sensation.
And this is where your body gets pretty amazing.
Your skin has tiny sensory receptors that help you detect things like temperature. One of them is called TRPM8âbut you donât need to remember that name. đ
Think of TRPM8 as one of your bodyâs little âcool detectors.â
When your skin encounters actual cool temperatures, these receptors can send a signal to your nervous system that says:
âHey⌠thatâs cool!â
Menthol can activate that same cooling pathway.
So when peppermint comes into contact with your skin, your senses can receive a cooling signalâeven without a significant drop in your skinâs temperature.
Thatâs the little bit of science behind that refreshing peppermint feeling we know and love. đż
And thereâs something kind of wonderful about that.
Sometimes refreshing is a feeling.
A cool mist.
A fresh breath.
A quiet moment.
A little pause in the middle of the day.
Just enough to make you feel⌠refreshed.

Aloe: The Forgiving Ingredient
Sometimes our skin doesnât need more from us.
It needs a little grace.
Think about everything our skin experiences every dayâsun, wind, cold, heat, dry air, makeup, and all the little things we donât even think about.
And yet, it keeps showing up for us.
Thatâs one reason we love aloe vera.
Aloe is a wonderfully versatile botanical ingredient known for its soothing and comforting qualities. It can be used on its own or included in skincare formulations to give skin a little extra support when it needs it.
So this week, weâre calling aloe the forgiving ingredient. đż
Because aloe doesnât promise perfection.
It simply offers a little kindness along the way.
And maybe our skin isnât the only thing that deserves a little of that.
đ One ingredient. One little discovery. One step at a time.

RESTORE â INSIDE & OUT đż
This week, we started with a simple reminder:
Sometimes, after all the demands life places on us, we need a little time to restore.
Then on Wednesday, we turned that thought toward our skin.
Because while weâre busy working, caring, giving, and doing⌠our skin is working hard, too.
Thatâs why we talked about Squalane.
Squalane is an emollient that helps soften and smooth the skin and can help reduce moisture lossâgiving our skin a little support as it does the work itâs already doing.
And now, if youâve been wondering how to put that knowledge into practice, weâre making the next step a little easier. đ
đż Squalane Serum
Regularly $45 â $38.25
đż Brighten & Nourish
Regularly $95 â $80.75
Both are 15% off through Monday, September 14th.
You donât have to change everything.
You donât have to have a complicated routine.
Maybe Squalane is the next little step that feels right for you.
Or maybe youâd rather have an easy, balanced routine with some of the guesswork taken out.
You get to choose.
Thatâs what weâre here forâknowledge first, so you can make informed choices for yourself. đ

SQUALANE â SQUALENE
Have you ever seen squalane on a skincare label and wondered what it actually is?
Or noticed squalene and thought, âWaitâŚisnât that the same thing?â
Theyâre relatedâbut theyâre not exactly the same.
Squalene is something our skin naturally makes. Itâs found in sebum, the natural oils our skin produces to help keep it soft and protected.
As we age, our skin naturally produces less squalene.
Squalane is the more stable form of squalene used in skincare. Itâs created through a process called hydrogenation, which simply means making the ingredient more stable so it can be used in skincare products without breaking down as easily.
And hereâs the part I think is really interesting:
Squalane is an emollientâa skincare ingredient that helps soften and smooth the skin. It can also help reduce moisture loss, helping skin feel comfortable, soft, and moisturized.
So when you see SQUALANE on a label, now you know a little more about what youâre looking at. đż
And thatâs exactly why we created our Whatâs in It Wednesday Knowledge Series.
Not to tell you what you should use.
Not to tell you which ingredients are âgoodâ or âbad.â
Just to give you the knowledge to make informed choices for yourself.
Because sometimes the best place to start is simply knowing whatâs in it. đ

Loose Minerals: Why Simple Is Enough
Have you ever looked at an ingredient label and wonderedâŚ
âWhy does this product have so many ingredients?â
Today, weâre taking another look at our loose mineral makeup and sharing a little more of the story.
Our minerals are dry powders, which means they donât need the same type of preservation that products containing water do.
And because of that, we can keep the ingredient list wonderfully simpleâwithout adding ingredients that arenât necessary for this type of product.
And what about the word âorganicâ?
Thatâs a little more complicated. âOrganicâ has a specific meaning when it comes to beauty ingredients, and mineral ingredients donât simply qualify as organic because theyâre naturally occurring minerals.
Simple doesnât mean something is missing.
Sometimes, simple means we didnât need to add more. đż
We believe you deserve to understand what youâre putting on your skin.
Weâre here to educate, empower, and walk alongside youânot tell you what choices to make.
đ Whatâs one ingredient youâve always wondered about?

đż ONE STEP MONDAY: REST
This week, our one word is REST.
Sometimes we think we have to keep going until everything is done.
But the truth is⌠you canât pour from an empty tank.
Rest isnât giving up.
It isnât being lazy.
Rest is restoration.
Maybe today your one small step is simply giving yourself permission to slow down, breathe deep, and simply be.
What does REST look like for you today? đ
