The new hive seems to be settling in. They are already building comb and I gave them some honey to help move things along.

I missed going to get a big swarm today for frustrating reasons.
I just checked on my weekend crew and they are already building comb and doing great 💪🏻🐝
Hopefully I can add more to the gang soon!

From beehive to your table, do not underestimate what it takes to make a real beeswax candle.

Once the honeybee has graciously supplied the beeswax, the beehavers work begins.
The wax is to be rendered, strained, and sometimes repeated.
In a home kitchen this means laying out foil & wax paper everywhere so your mess is easier to clean as well as having a clean environment.
I personally strain a last time into my molds and store them for ease of use for the products I make.

So next time you buy a candle from a market or local beekeeper, please remember all that went into it, from bee to table, and enjoy the light 🐝🐝🐝
