Hyleremis Gravidum 🤢
If you’ve ever experienced nausea in pregnancy what has help you? This condition can be server aka Hyperemisis Gravidum,, sometimes requiring hospitalization.
A well known trick used by doulas is peppermint oil to relieve the feeling or wave of nausea that overcomes women in labor. I’ve found peppermint oil helpful many situations including; for women coming out of anesthesia, general foggy brain relief, and car sickness.
Acupressure points can also give temporary relief.
*P6 -pericardium 6
Find it on the inner forearm,
3 fingers width above the wrist crease
Between the two tendons
- apply firm steady pressure 1-3 minutes with your thumb
-repeat throughout the day as needed.
Some other suggestions that have helped my clients over the years:
-Stay well hydrated, adding electrolytes to your water.
-Eat small meals
-Slow, diaphragmatic breathing.
