BSN SOCCER: COCOA BEACH BOYS SOCCER WIN 3A-5 DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP:

The Cocoa Beach Minutemen boys soccer program defeated the Space Coast Vipers on Wednesday night to win the FHSAA 3A-5 District Championship.

The winning goal came in these second overtime as the two teams battled for 100 minutes. The district championship win is also the first in program history.

BSN is currently awaiting the box score from this game but it’s the 14th victory of the season for CCB against just three losses with one tie.

Aside from winning the district championship the win was also big in the sense that it likely guarantees a home game in round one of the FHSAA state tournament.

Cocoa Beach entered the district tournament as the number four seed in Class 3A, Region 2 and a loss in the championship could have dropped them to a five seed which would have forced them to travel in round one. 

The Space Coast Vipers entered the district tournament as a No.9 seed and will now have to wait for the bracket release from the FHSAA to see if they have done enough to slide in to the eighth and final playoff spot

You've probably spotted him around Cocoa Beach - hard to miss at 6'8" tall! But beyond his towering stature, Officer Stanley's heart is what truly stands out. His philosophy is simple: "Others don't have to fail for you to succeed." That's why he's all about community involvement, dedicated to helping every citizen find their own victories.

From lemonade stands to high school sports games, and Beach and Dune restoration projects to Friday Fest, Officer Stanley is everywhere, making a difference. He's deeply involved with the turtle restoration society, assisting in rehabilitating turtles and releasing them back into the wild. Business leaders know him by name, appreciating his daily patrols.

And his dedication doesn't stop there. Alongside his duties on the road, Officer Stanley serves as a traffic homicide investigator, field training officer, and volunteer coordinator for Citizens on Patrol. In his downtime, he enjoys catching movies, cheering on his alma mater, the University of Florida Gators, and traveling with his family.
