One of my favorite things is when you see the lightbulb come on and things that may have been difficult before now just click and make sense 🙌
Because sometimes it just makes more sense to do some balayage rather than a head full of foils!
Both foils and balayage have their place in the world but it’s sooo great to give yourself (and your clients) options to get to an end result. 💯
Next class: June 22

I wanted to introduce myself and share a little bit about my journey with balayage and why I’m so obsessed with it:
Stylist 25 years
Salon owner 10 years
Extension Specialist 8 years
Balayage Educator 8 years
I’ve been doing hand painted balayage for over a decade—I actually struggled at first and leaned heavily on foils because I didn’t fully trust the results I was getting with open-air painting.
But over time (and lots of trial, error, and education), I figured out how to customize the technique to actually work for real clients behind the chair—not just models in perfect lighting.
I’m passionate about teaching other stylists how to make it efficient, profitable, and foolproof.
I believe that Balayage is one of the most versatile techniques a colorist can master—it truly belongs in every stylist’s toolkit. ✨✨

25 years behind the chair… and these are 5 of the biggest lessons I’ve learned:
• Great hair is only part of it.
How you make people feel matters just as much as the result. Clients remember the connection.
• Boundaries aren’t barriers.
They’re what keep this career sustainable and fulfilling. Saying no sometimes opens space for what does align.
• Education is always worth it.
Every class, every dollar, every late-night practice session—it’s all built not just my skills, but my confidence and leadership.
• Clients come for the relationship.
The best part of this job isn’t just the hair—it’s the trust, the stories, the loyalty built over years.
• You can’t pour from an empty cup.
Burnout doesn’t make you better. Asking for help, building a team, and creating systems—that’s how you grow with grace. 🫶
Here’s to the next season—wiser, clearer, and more grounded than ever.🥂
I was a stylist who loved foils for years, but I started craving a more intentional, artistic way to create dimension. (Don’t get me wrong, foils will always have their place… but I was getting BORED).
Balayage opened up a whole new world for me — where placement, impact, and artistry mattered more than just stacking in highlights.
Learning to paint changed the way I look at haircolor forever.
If you’re ready to level up your balayage skills, my next hands-on class is June 22nd, with another on August 4th.
✨ 100 off early bird pricing until May 6th. ✨
Payment options are available and Virtual options are in the works — DM me to get on the waitlist or for more info.

Sometimes it’s fun to ditch the foil highlights and to paint some hair 🙌
I Painted a little brightness back into her hair and finished with a gloss overlay using Shades EQ!
**Lightener:** Kevin Murphy Clay Lightener
**Gloss formula:** 05C / 05RB / 06WG
I painted this *while* her base color was processing—
because
*balayage doesn’t have to take all day.*
You can be efficient *without* compromising your technique or the health of your guest’s hair.
This will grow out beautifully. 🙌
She will get maintenance base touch-ups in between balayage appointments, or we may add lowlights during summer to keep the dimension fresh.
📣Virtual Balayage Education is coming soon!
📣And if you’re ready to learn in person, my first hands-on classes are:
June 22 & August 4
