The Cincy Bookstore Crawl starts on Friday, and we hope you’ll make Northside’s own Downbound Books your first stop!

Pick up your official passport, get it stamped and you’re on your way to earning prize entries. The more bookstores you visit, the more chances you have to win!

Located at 4139 Apple St., Downbound Books is an old-fashioned neighborhood bookstore that presents books, ideas and authors that aren’t always so easy to discover elsewhere, and works to stock an ever-evolving selection of books that resonate with our community.

With just over 500 square feet of selling space, this is the very definition of “small but mighty!”

The book selection includes local authors and local imprints like Lost Art Press, a Covington-based publisher of hand-tool woodworking titles, and a section that pays homage to Crazy Ladies Bookstore, a one-time Northside business that was a gathering place for progressive activists.

Non-book offerings include stickers, pins, puzzles, and a Richard Scarry print vending machine from Anastasia Inciardi.

The tightly curated, light-filled space is presided over by a paper installation by Cincinnati-based Paper Acorn.
