Laswa is an original dish from the province of Iloilo which is now a city. It’s a very simple vegetable dish that consist of tomatoes, onions, green beans or sitaw if available, squash, okra, and Malungay or Moringa . It also depends on the person cooking , on what kind of vegetables to use. Also some prefer shrimps or fish. I prefer shrimps. This is a very nutritious dish and very easy to prepare.🫛🌱

After running errands. I picked up Rubio’s to go and enjoyed Taco Tuesday at home.🌮🌮🌮Sometimes the best meals are the simple ones-good food, no rush, and a cozy little break after a busy day. It’s really best to bring home your favorite food and relax at home after everything is done. 🌮🌮🌮

My love for “Epidendrum Orchids” started in the 1980’s driving around San Diego with my Ate Guela hunting for Keikis and learning how to grow them. We used to buy little keikis for$4.50 each and bigger one’s for $7.50 and up and potted plants for $15 and up depending on size. Some people call them “poor man’s orchid”, but I call them my garden treasures.🌸🌼🌺I’ve loved them ever since and will always have a place in my heart and in my garden. Epidendrum will always remind me of my Ate Guela, my Mom’s goddaughter, and one of the sweetest, and kindest people I know, just like my Mom.💚🧑‍🌾 I miss them both deeply. I still grow Epis today with love and precious memories.🌸🌺🌼
