I had this question come up in a session the other day, how many nerves are in the hand?
The human hand contains approximately 100,000 nerves, with each fingertip housing about 3,000 nerve endings known as Meissner's corpuscles, which detect light touch and vibrations.
Additionally, there are around 17,000 touch receptors and free nerve endings in the palm. This high density of nerve endings contributes to the hand's exceptional sensitivity.
I am often asked how long I give myself in between sessions? It takes me a minimum of 15 minutes to clean & prep my room for my next client, I also typically check my phone as I prefer to answer calls as they come through. I also start laundry midday and fold anything that needs put away. We like a clean and tidy workspace, I know my clients appreciate that. I rarely sit down during my work day, we run our race!💗🤲

Let’s talk about your feet 🦶I know a lot of people don’t like feet, are self-conscious, don’t even want their feet massaged. My feet are super sensitive and I suffer through the massage part when getting a pedicure. I really just want toenails and cuticles trimmed. Anyway, why are our feet so sensitive?
Each human foot contains thousands of nerve endings, with estimates ranging from around 4,000 to over 7,000 in the sole, concentrated especially in the toes and balls of the feet.
The human foot is densely innervated, making it highly sensitive to touch, pressure, temperature, and pain. The sole of a single foot contains approximately 4,000 tactile afferent fibers, while some estimates suggest over 7,000 nerve endings per foot overall, including sensory, motor, and autonomic fibers. This crucial for balance, gait, and spatial awareness, allowing the foot to act as a sophisticated sensory interface with the environment.

Our clients know they don’t really need to say where they’re hurting. We can see it as you walk in, we are looking at your gait and posture or we will surely find it when you are on the table. I remember a teacher saying think of the body as a landscape you are moving over, we can feel a temperature change. A tightness almost feels like a speed bump, a change in texture, telling us to focus there. ☺️❤️
Tension is not always obvious at first.
Share this as a gentle reminder to those clients who keep saying they are “fine” while their body is telling a different story.

People ask me all the time if I schedule bodywork for myself? It just doesn’t feel the same when I work on myself and that is one reason why I do. 😁

Yes!✅
You don’t have to wait until you’re overwhelmed, in pain, or completely burned out to take care of yourself.
Massage doesn’t have to be something you “earn” after doing enough, working enough, or pushing through enough.
It can be part of how you support your body before it reaches empty.
Consider this your reminder: care counts, even when you’re not at your breaking point.
Share this with a client who needs the reminder.

So true! I do ❤️ a beach day!
Beach days are fun, but they can also leave the body needing a little reset. Long hours in the sun, carrying chairs and coolers, walking though sand, swimming, and lounging in positions your body is not used to can all add up.
Share this with your clients who recently had a beach day as reminder: the fun counts, but so does the recovery.
Excellent 👏👏 👏 I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. ❤️
