What I wish I knew before becoming a brow artist that doesn’t really have to do with my brow skills 👀✨👇🏻

Kill em with kindness, ok don’t actually kill them lol but kindness and respect are so important. Your clients deserve it, they’re literally supporting your dream. This is something that’s nonnegotiable and not only for your favorite clients, it’s given in full to each and every one of them, happily💖

I promise you don’t know everything, they don’t know everything, and I don’t know everything. We can all continue learning for the entirety of our careers. It only makes you a stronger brow artist/skincare specialist/etc. Be a sponge, learn from everywhere, even if the class wasn’t the best- I bet you learned something!

Instant results may work in the moment but I want my clients coming back for years. I’m fine with the lamination not laying perfectly as long as their hairs are safe and not over processed. I’m ok missing a couple extractions if it means I’m not causing unnecessary damage. These things matter and are truly so important.

If you want to be the best in your area, these three tips are what I live by. They’ve allowed me to build a full clientele and most recently open up my own storefront. I’m so grateful for my clients and work hard to ensure they’re happy. That’s the real secret sauce ✨👏🏻

These tips aren’t just random, they’re extremely intentional. We want you to have the best possible results with no issues. Following aftercare is the best way for you to be happy with your results and maintain hair/skin health.

How to get better at tinting? If your application feels perfect but you’re still not stoked with your results, you may need to circle back to your color theory education 👀🎨

Color theory helps you pick the correct shades, mix colors, add warmth/coolness, and understand where your clients brows are at and where they want to go.

This also helps you know what types of tints to grab for different situations. Some lines lean cooler or warmer and each can be great to have in your back bar. But you have to understand which colors compliment each other and which to use to adjust the undertone or overall tone.

Understanding color theory is what really sets the great artists apart 👏🏻

I think you should be reading more 👀📖

Reading helps reduce stress, wind down for better sleep, and help improve empathy. Just to name a few benefits!

It also helps broaden your vocabulary and sharpen brain function. And no, it doesn’t have to be non fiction or self help to give these benefits.

I’ve always been a reader but over the years I allowed tv and scrolling to dominate my time. This year in June I made a decision to really focus on reading as much as I can in my free time.

I just hit my reading goal of 20 books for the year and am half way through my 21st👏🏻 I’m not only proud of the goal I accomplished, but I’ve felt less stressed and happier with this shifted focus.

I think the secret is finding the books you truly love and actually carving out the time. I also love a or e reader for nighttime reading🌙📖
