Today we honor Juneteenth — a day of freedom, resilience, and reflection.
We recognize the significance of June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
As we celebrate freedom, we also acknowledge the strength, contributions, and enduring legacy of the Black community. May today be a reminder to continue learning, listening, and working toward a future where equality and opportunity are shared by all.
