Thought of the day… Appreciate the NOW.
I’m at my salon cleaning today, and I caught myself trying to hurry up and get it done so I could move on to the next thing.
Then something hit me.
I remember when I prayed to God for my own space. And not only did He give me a space, but in 2020, I was blessed to expand into a much larger one.
And here I was… rushing through taking care of something I once prayed for.
Whew. That checked me.
It made me realize how easy it is as an entrepreneur to become so focused on what’s next that we stop appreciating what’s now. We’re always thinking about the next level, the next opportunity, the next client, the next sale, the next bigger space, the next goal.
But are we taking care of what we already asked God for?
Whether your business is 500 square feet or 5,000… whether you have 5 clients or 500… take care of it. Clean it. Nurture it. Show up for it. Be grateful for it.
And don’t get me wrong—REST. Rest is necessary. But there’s a difference between resting and not being a good steward of what you already have.
I always say, there’s no such thing as a lazy entrepreneur or solopreneur. Building something requires work. But today I’m adding something else to that:
How can we expect greater if we’re not taking care of the NOW?
Sometimes we’re so busy praying for the NEXT blessing that we forget we’re standing in the middle of a prayer that was already answered.
So today, I’m cleaning my salon a little differently.
Not rushing.
Not complaining.
Just grateful. 🙏🏾
