“What keeps me stuck?”
Hi, I’m Karen Lyu, the Creative Clarity Coach.
Question of the week Part 11: “What keeps me stuck?”
This is a powerful question for creative, neurodivergent women because:
It helps you see patterns that may be holding you back.
It removes shame. Feeling stuck does not mean something is wrong with you.
It gives you useful information. Once you know what is getting in the way, you can make a change.
Being stuck is not a failure.
It is often a sign that something needs support.
Pls remember, one question can change your life.
What’s one thing that keeps you stuck?

Why Traditional Lessons Don’t Always Work - Part 76ers
While traditional voice lessons may work for some people, they don’t necessarily work for everyone.
Part 7: In traditional lessons: Mindset and identity issues are often ignored: Self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and “not a real singer” stories aren’t fully addressed.
However, in holistic voice coaching: Mindset and identity issues are fully addressed so that singers, speakers, and actors feel empowered to perform from a grounded sense of confidence.
For example: My students are taught to focus on the emotional expression of the song in service to the audience.

Question of the Week - Part 10
Hi, I’m Karen, the Creative Clarity Coach.
The question of the week is: “What would be smart?”
This is a powerful question for creative, neurodivergent women because:
It shifts you out of pressure: Instead of asking what you “should” do, it invites positive, practical, and wise choices.
It supports sustainable action: Smart doesn’t mean perfect or impressive—it means doable, aligned, and considerate of your capacity.
It builds self-trust: The more you practice choosing what’s smart for you, the less you rely on external validation or urgency.
You don’t need to do everything—you need to do what works.
Smart action is how you move forward without burning out.
Pls remember, one question can change your life.
What would be the smartest next step for you today?

I enjoyed sharing 2 astounding stories from my upcoming book "Singing in Tune: Solutions for 25 Pitch Problems, 2nd Edition" and singing my fan-favorite gospel version of "You Are My Sunshine" twice this past weekend at the Monteagle Mountain Market!
The official book launch date is SATURDAY, AUGUST 1ST, 2026.
Thanks to my hilarious writer friend, Beth Wynn Riner, for the photo.

Why Traditional Lessons Don’t Always Work - Part 6
While the traditional voice lessons may work for some people, they don’t necessarily work for everyone.
Part 6: In traditional lessons: Students may practice exercises mindlessly without learning why they are important or how to use them to improve their singing, speaking, or acting.
However, in holistic voice coaching: Students immediately see, feel, and hear a difference in their voice and also learn why and how each exercise is helpful to them.
For example: I had a student, named Jody, who was given scales that didn’t improve her voice, because she practiced them incorrectly. This was because her previous teacher didn’t explain why the exercises were important or demonstrate how to correct the issues that were getting in the way.

Question of the Week - Part 9
Hi, I’m Karen Lyu, the Creative Clarity Coach.
The question of the week is: “Who supports me?”
This is a powerful question for creative, neurodivergent women because:
It builds awareness of your support system: You start to notice who genuinely holds space for you, encourages you, and respects your needs.
It challenges isolation patterns: Many of us are used to doing everything alone, even when support is available.
It clarifies what’s missing: If the answer feels unclear or uncomfortable, that’s valuable information about the kind of support you may need to seek or create.
Support doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be real.
And recognizing it can help you feel less alone as you move forward.
Please remember, one question can change your life.
Who supports you right now?
Let me know in the comments.

If you attempted to preorder Singing in Tune, 2nd Edition, unfortunately, there were 2 unexpected problems.
I apologize.
And, I was just commenting how smoothly almost everything was going this time, compared to the first time.
After some thought and some professional advice, I have decided to postpone the book launch until Saturday, August 1st, 2026.
Please note that it will be worth the wait!
