This morning I had a Hair & Makeup Bridal Trial for my beautiful bride getting married September 5th… and guess what?!

As an African American hair & makeup artist, moments like this are important to me because inclusivity in the beauty industry has to go BOTH ways.

Being a skilled beauty professional means being able to work confidently across different skin tones, undertones, facial features, hair colors, hair textures, ages, and cultures. My chair isn't reserved for one type of woman—and my artistry isn't limited to women who look like me.

Black artists shouldn't automatically be placed in a box where we're expected to only service Black clients. Our talent is versatile. Our education is extensive. And our artistry crosses cultures. 👏🏾
