On July 9th 2026 at 10:12am my life finally started and Penelope Mae came into the world via C-Section after 48 hours of labor🌷

🎀 Our story 🎀
After doing all the *things* dates, raspberry tea, the stretches, walks- at 6am Tuesday, mild contractions started and at 3pm, my water broke and contractions immediately jumped to 3 minutes apart and picked up on intensity veryyyyy quickly 😮💨
Due to a personal medical diagnosis, I cannot receive ANY spine inserted medication so epidural was off the table… I had to rely on other alternatives like massagers, IV and breathing… but after so long my mind starting to wear thin…
I was left shaking and just when I thought I would hit the peak in pain, they would only grow more in intensity and closer together… the worst part is…I wasn’t dilating and she wasn’t descending and I would see her heart beat dip into the 90’s.
Something felt very wrong.
I mentally and physically couldn’t take anymore, I have a high pain tolerance through years of debilitating endometriosis and I decided I couldn’t do it anymore. Within minutes, the room was filled with doctors and gave the green light. I had to be put under general anesthesia so my husband would miss the birth and we wouldn’t hear her cry but now our health were at stake. I had to listen to my instincts and the reality that pushing naturally wasn’t going to happen like I planned.
At 10:12am our baby girl was born with her umbilical cord not only wrapped twice, but with a loop, stopping her from ever being able to descend and if she had… she wouldn’t have made it through pushing. And thanks to the amazing anesthesiologist, he recorded her beautiful cry.
We were both safe and that’s all that mattered. 🥰 We are so happy and overjoyed. The world wasn’t spinning before her first breath and I can’t imagine life without her. The love is truly indescribable. I’m still healing and it hasn’t been easy but with the best medicine in my arms, we’ll make it through ❣️
