Going darker doesn’t have to mean permanent 🤎

This transformation was all about adding depth, richness, and dimension while keeping her future hair goals in mind.

When we’re going darker, there are 3 main types of color to consider:

✨ Semi-permanent: Sits primarily on the surface of the hair, gradually fades, and doesn’t create the same long-term commitment as permanent color.

✨ Demi-permanent: Deposits color deeper into the hair with a low-volume developer. It lasts longer than a semi and is still a softer commitment than permanent color.

✨ Permanent: Changes the hair’s internal pigment and is designed to stay until the hair grows out or is chemically lightened/colored over.

For this transformation, I chose a semi-permanent approach because I wanted to create that deeper, richer brunette without unnecessarily locking her into the color.

As seasons change OR if she decides she wants to go lighter, warmer, cooler, or completely shift her tone, we have more flexibility to make that transition. 🤎
