The face doesn’t age in isolation, and neither should we think about caring for it that way. Skin, fascia, muscle, fat, bone, circulation and lymphatic flow are interconnected. And beyond those structures, hormones, posture, movement, stress, sun exposure and our everyday habits can influence how the face changes over time.

It’s something I often discuss with my clients, because there is rarely one single answer. One mask, one machine, one product or one technique cannot address everything.

That’s why my approach continues to evolve as I learn more about the relationships between the skin and the structures beneath it—while always respecting what is within my scope to support.

The face functions as a whole. I believe it should be cared for as one.

The contour may catch your eye, but facial sculpting is about more than creating definition.

By combining lymphatic drainage, fascia focused techniques, Gua Sha and intentional touch, I work to encourage fluid movement, soften areas of held facial tension and help the skin look brighter and more refreshed.

Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, and it feels like the perfect time to share a little more of the story behind Skin Loft.

I was born in Los Angeles, but I grew up in Ecuador, and that part of who I am has always stayed deeply rooted in me.

My path to Skin Loft was not a straight one. I spent many years in corporate accounting and finance before making a major career change in my early 50s. I went back to school, entered the beauty and wellness industry, worked for others for a short time, and eventually took the leap to open Skin Loft in 2020, just after the COVID shutdown.

Since then, I’ve continued learning, traveling, training and building a practice that reflects what I believe in: caring for people with intention and integrity, practicing ethically, never becoming complacent in my craft, and creating something meaningful at every stage of life.

Today, I’m proud of my Ecuadorian heritage, proud of the life I’ve built in this country, and proud that I had the courage to begin again at a stage of life when we’re sometimes told we should already have everything figured out.

Our roots shape us. And we keep growing from there. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month.
