Daily Question Time:
Where you most of your workouts take place?

If at home, I'd love to know what you have available for equipment and what your set up is like!

How Many Steps A Day For Weight Loss + Life Updates (Girl Talk) 09/23/2026

If you've hung out with me on the FWW Podcast for years, then you might miss the days when I'd sit or go for a walk and just... talk.

I'd talk life, share my journey, goals and struggles... and give tips along the way. It was laid back with little editing, and nearly zero pressure.

It wasn't better, just different.

So a few months ago, I said I'd get back to this format from time to time. I want, no need, more time to connect with my fit fam (you).

That's what today's episode is, sharing:

➡️ Why I haven't run in nearly a month (and if I'm okay mentally with that)...

➡️The secret to my mostly great marriage. Also, just saying that gives me the ick.

And finish by answering 2 recent questions:

➡️ 1: Is 8-10K steps a day enough to help weight loss?

➡️ 2: Why isn't this 4x/week workout schedule leading to a toner physique. (I share the schedule in the episode).

Before I give the direct links, will you do me a solid?

If you love the podcast, have you shared it? Did you know on Spotify you can share directly to your IG stories? wink wink.

And finally, if you feel like we'd get along well and you are looking for help to hit your goals - set up a free fit talk:

For some people, hiring a personal trainer seems as out of reach as hiring a personal chef.

Sounds amazing but completely unobtainable and an “I wish” luxury.

So it’s only natural when you get an email or see a post about private coaching, you immediately hit delete or scroll past.

So let’s talk.

Is hiring a fitness coach an investment?
Well, yea.

At least hiring a good one who:

- Isn’t writing an AI prompt in ChatGPT to create your “personal” and “custom” plan.

- Who is available to you when you need them to answer questions, give pep talks, and offer modifications when life changes your day or week.

- Understands where you are in life right now and isn’t afraid to create a program that fits that life instead of trying to guilt you into “do more” and “work harder” mentality.

I know what you’re thinking,
“But Kindal, doesn’t that mean by hiring a trainer I’ll lose half my weight because it’s going to cost an arm and a leg?” 😜

That’s one reason I moved to online virtual training.

If we were to work 1:1 together IN PERSON…

A. you’d have to be in Charleston.

B. That would cost $75 for a single 1-hour session. And let’s be real: a single meet-up a week isn’t going to do much for your body or hold you accountable with nutrition, daily steps, and personal drive.

So 3 in person workouts a week… that’s $225 per week… $900 per month.

Which is cray-cray. BUT…

With virtual training you get it all.

3-4 weekly workouts, DAILY communication, regular check-ins, access to me anytime you have questions (going out to eat? Send me the menu, let’s decide together what taste great and keeps you on track)…

And the cost?
$400 a month... or $1200 for 12 WEEKS.

Is that feasible for everyone? No.

But if you’ve been wishing you had the ability to have a trainer, thinking it would cost nearly a grand per month… maybe that does open the door to go, “oh, I can do that.”

3 months of investing in a trainer for a lifetime of health and fitness.

And yes, I am fine breaking that up to make it easier, if that helps.

Who should hire a coach?

If you’re tired of wishing you had help.
If you’re tired of not feeling good about your body, health, etc.
If you are tired of saying every Monday, “today I’m going to start!”

Start by setting up a talk.

Let’s talk and see if we’re a good match together.

I’ll also give you immediate suggestions for your fitness and nutrition that you can implement with or without my help.

All you have to do is go to my calendar, pick a day and time, and we’ll discuss your goals, needs, and wants.

New Fit Women's Weekly Podcast: Diet Horror Stories

What I asked: "What's the worst diet/nutrition advice you've been given or have seen being given to someone?"

Just one of over eighty responses I got:

"I was crying in my doctor's office when I was younger - he said, "you know what......just puree all your food - liquify your diet and it is inevitable to drop some weight." I said, "Are you kidding me?" and nervously laughed. He said, "look you need to do something and that seems plausible" I told him, "Don't tell any woman that ever again!" walked out and never went back."

Thank you to everyone that shared their stories. I am so sorry so many of us had to experience diet horrors but hopefully by sharing, we help others avoid the the unhealthy, bad advice that was given to us.

When I was 13/14 my brother’s girlfriend told me that if I do moves like this, my b***s would grow. Spoiler... they didn’t. But chest flies are one of my favorite exercises.

The chest fly machine (pec deck) is a great one if you have access to it, but an ever better alternative would be these dumbbell chest flies.

Machines have a place with accessory work but anytime you can do the move with free weights, you’re going to be better off. You’ll use more stabalizer muscles, more core, and smaller muscles for a bigger bang than if you were seated on the machine taking it through it’s set motion.

What muscles do you work?

Pecs (chest)
Anterior Delts (front of shoulders)
Triceps
Core

If you’re trying to build a stronger upper body do 2 things: Add this to your next workout AND share this... even if you send it to yourself so you have it for a reminder next time you go to build your next workout.

Not great at planning workouts?
Let’s take a look at what you can improve on.

Comment “FLY” and we can set up a no-strings attached training call to get some help with all your workout questions!
