Ever have a full set of clip-in extensions to work with, but nowhere near enough room on your client’s head to spread them all out?

This is where stacking your wefts comes in handy! Instead of trying to find space for every piece individually, you can stack multiple wefts together in the same section to get the fullness you need without running out of room.

It’s especially helpful when you’re working with smaller heads, finer hair, or styles where you need to be strategic about your extension placement.

You don’t always need more space… sometimes you just need a different way to use the space you have 😉

Save this one for your next bride using clip in extensions and let me know if you’ve done this!

Your wedding morning timeline can look perfectly fine on paper and STILL be setting you up for chaos.

Here are 4 things I’d double check before you call that timeline finalized:

1. Assigning everyone a specific hair and makeup time slot.

Not everyone takes the same amount of time, and people don’t always show up when they’re supposed to 😅 Instead of having artists sit around waiting for “Sarah” to finish makeup or “Tina” to arrive, it’s often better to have enough people on-site to keep both artists working and rotate whoever is available next. The only person that needs a definitive time slot is the bride! Your hair and makeup artists can help you figure out the best slots for yourself.

2. Your vendors having different finish times.

Let’s say your hairstylist confirmed with you that hair will be finished at 2:00, but your photographer’s timeline has getting-ready photos starting at 1:30. Now everyone thinks hair is behind schedule when the timelines were never aligned in the first place. Make sure your hair and makeup team, photographer, and planner are all working from the SAME timeline.

3. Forgetting to confirm when you can access your bridal suite.

Please make sure you know what time you can actually get into your getting-ready space! Your hair and makeup team can’t start setting up in a room you don’t have access to yet 🙈

4. Only leaving one hour between hair and makeup finishing and your ceremony.

You still need to get dressed, exchange gifts, first look with bridesmaids, take photos, and actually get where you need to be. And please leave yourself a minute to BREATHE before walking down the aisle. You don’t want to go straight from a rushed photo session to “it’s time to get married!” 🫠

A well-planned timeline doesn’t just keep your vendors on schedule. It gives YOU room to enjoy your wedding morning without feeling like you’re racing the clock!

Save this for when you’re planning your wedding morning & follow for more tips 💛

Okay… we made it work 🙌🏼

Since I couldn’t use any heat on the synthetic extensions, I started by defining her natural curls before adding the extensions. That way I knew exactly what was her hair and what was synthetic, and I wasn’t accidentally curling the wrong hair later 😅🫠

Then I did a little ponytail hack with the extensions, which made installing everything SO much easier and way more comfortable for my client.

There were definitely a few little tricks that made this work, so… do you want me to break down exactly how I did it? Let me know! 💛

She wanted a ponytail, she had the extensions… so what’s the problem?

Well, they were synthetic, which meant I couldn’t put any heat on them without risking melting them 😅

So before I started styling, we had to figure out how to get the look she wanted while working with the limitations of the extensions she brought.

I always give my brides an affirmation card on their wedding day and I always say, I don’t choose them, they choose you. So when my bride Sam said she cried when she saw me post hers on my story that morning, I just knew these had to stay part of my ritual 💛✨

At Sam’s bridal preview, we couldn’t quite figure out how she wanted the front and sides and it wasn’t necessarily because she didn’t know what she wanted, but she was having a hard time articulating it, and although she loved her trial hair, after she saw me post another one of my brides with a very similar style but just more texture she knew when she saw it that that was exactly what she was aiming for. And you can tell by her reaction that it was exactly what she envisioned 🥹

I caught myself doing something I see SO much on social media… turning the negative into the hook just to make people stop scrolling.

And honestly? It worked. But it also made me realize… that’s not how I want to show up. I don’t want to add more negativity to an already very loud internet.

So I’m trying something different. Instead of “what could go wrong?”

What’s the best that could happen? ✨

That question is the entire heart behind this new series. And what better way to start than with a bride who got married in a NOR’EASTER? 😂🌧️

Let’s see what could go right 💛

If you’ve ever snagged a piece of hair while trying to create a ponytail with the style you just spent 30 minutes creating, this one’s for you 😅

With a traditional elastic, you have to pull the hair through the band to secure the ponytail and that extra movement can snag, pull, or disturb the hair you just styled.

With elastic cord, I can wrap it around the base of the ponytail instead. That means I’m securing the hair without having to pull the finished style through an elastic.

It’s such a small switch, but it gives you SO much more control. And the best part? It’s super affordable and comes with a lot!

For Kylie’s trial we did a very textured bun which was super cute but after looking at her the trial photos she decided she wanted something more simple for the wedding day.

She showed me some photos of the vibe she wanted to go for and I could of just said cool, got it 👍🏼 but instead, we took some extra time to walk through each photo about what she liked and didn’t like and we figured out she didn’t actually like everything about each photo but rather pieces of each.

So we decided we wanted to keep the same smoother texture in the sides and crown as we did at the trial and just switch the bun to a smoother more polished one.

Stay tuned and come along for next weeks wedding 💛
