There have absolutely been seasons when I thought the answer was:
Do more.
Push harder.
Train harder.
Try harder.
And my body basically said…
“Nope.” 😂
One of the hardest lessons for someone who loves fitness is learning that more isn’t always better.
Sometimes the thing your body needs most isn’t another workout.
It’s sleep.
Food.
A walk instead of a run.
Mobility instead of intensity.
A day to recover.
I’m learning to listen sooner instead of waiting until my body has to yell.

Anyone else had to learn that lesson the hard way?

Recovery IS training.
I know. 😅
For those of us who love to move, lift and accomplish things, resting can somehow feel harder than the workout.

But the body doesn’t get stronger only from the stress we put on it.
It also needs the opportunity to recover from that stress.
Sleep.
Rest days.
Mobility.
Nutrition.
Hydration.
Slowing down.
This week our focus is RESTORE.
Because recovery isn’t something we do when we’ve failed to train.
Recovery is part of stewardship. 🌿

There is something beautiful about discipline.

We train.
We prepare.
We work hard.
We keep our promises to ourselves.

But I also know this:
I was never meant to carry every part of my life in my own strength.
There are places where effort is needed.
And there are places where surrender is needed.
Sometimes strength looks like pushing through.
Sometimes strength looks like kneeling down and saying:
“God, I need You here.”
Today I’m reminding myself that I can work faithfully without believing everything depends on me. ✝️

What is one thing you are trusting God with this week?

Weekend movement roll call! 🙋‍♀️
What are you doing today?
🏋️‍♀️ Weights
🚶‍♀️ Walking
🚴‍♀️ Cycling
🏃‍♀️ Running
🧘‍♀️ Mobility/stretching
😴 Rest day because THAT counts too
I love that fitness doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.
The best movement is the movement you’ll actually keep doing.
Drop yours below! 👇

Some workouts feel AMAZING.
And some workouts feel like…
“Well. At least I did it.” 😂

Today was one of those.
But here’s what years of training have taught me:
The workouts that don’t feel spectacular still count.
You don’t build consistency by only showing up when motivation, energy and attitude are all perfect.
You build it by showing up on the ordinary days too.
Done is still done.
Showing up counts. 💪

We talk a lot about workouts…but your body needs something to BUILD with.
You can’t expect your muscles to recover and get stronger if you’re constantly under-fueling them.

Protein.
Whole foods.
Water.
Vitamins and minerals.
Consistent nourishment.

Those things may not be as exciting as a hard workout, but they are part of the foundation.
This is one reason I’ve become so passionate about supporting my body from the inside out.
I want the workout AND the building blocks.
Because fitness isn’t only about what I ask my body to do.
It’s also about what I give it to work with.

Which meal is hardest for you to get enough protein in—breakfast, lunch or dinner?

Ladies, Lift the Weights

Ladies…please lift the weights. 💪
Not because you need to become smaller.
Because you deserve to become STRONGER.

As we get older, strength training can help support the things we actually care about:
Being able to move well.
Maintaining muscle and function.
Feeling confident carrying and lifting things.
Supporting bone health.
Staying capable and independent.
You do not have to become a bodybuilder.
You do not need a complicated program.
Start where you are.

Pick up the weights.
Learn proper form.
Get a little stronger over time.

Your future self will be very glad you did. 💚
Save this as your reminder that strength matters.
