Let’s talk toners 🤍

This is a step we get asked about a lot…what does a toner actually do, and do you need one?

Depending on the formula, toners can help hydrate, soothe, gently exfoliate, or support clearer-looking skin. So choosing one really comes down to what your skin needs.

One of our favorite ways to use them right now is layering two with different purposes:

✨ First, hypochlorous acid.
We’ve been loving Face Reality’s Omni Clear Mist after cleansing to help keep skin clean and balanced while providing gentle calming support. Let it dry before moving on to your next step.

✨ Then, something more targeted.
For skin needing extra soothing, we love GlyMed’s C*D Skin Mist. Its formula includes vitamin B3 to help soothe irritation and reduce the appearance of redness.

For skin feeling dry or tight, Face Reality’s Moisture Balance Toner helps replenish hydration and maintain moisture.

And yes, some toners exfoliate! Those require a little more intention, especially if you’re already using exfoliating products or other active ingredients.

Does everyone need two toners? No! But layering can be helpful when each product serves a purpose in your routine.

Hi, I’m Hayley! I’m an esthetician + owner of Liberty Skin Studio.

When I started Liberty Skin, I really just wanted to create a space where women and teens could feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in their skin. As a very acne prone girl myself, acne will always have a special place in my heart, but more than anything, I just love getting to know my clients, helping them understand their skin, and giving them a space to slow down and be taken care of for a little while.

It’s crazy to think about all the different seasons that have brought me here over the last five years. I’ve learned from so many people, made plenty of mistakes, grown a lot, and eventually took the leap to create something of my own. And if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that you don’t get anywhere completely by yourself.

I’m so grateful for every person who has taught me, encouraged me, worked alongside me, trusted me with their skin, or supported Liberty Skin along the way.

And especially my soon to be husband, Matthew. 🤍 Liberty Skin quite literally wouldn’t exist without the way he has believed in me and supported this dream. I’ll never be able to fully put into words how grateful I am for him.

At the heart of it all, I just really love what I do. I love helping women feel confident, helping teens with acne, I LOVE spray tans & a good brow tint, and I love the people I get to meet along the way.

So you’ll be seeing a lot more of me around here. 🤍 My books are open throughout the week, I’ll be spending a lot more time in the treatment room, and I’m excited to share more skincare, treatments, behind the scenes, and probably a little more real life too.
