Seven years ago, these twins entered the world much earlier than anyone had planned. Today I had the honor of piercing their ears and witnessing their shared joy 🤩 Growing alongside families and celebrating milestones big and small...how did I get so lucky? 🍀 💕

Longer well visits just feel different, in the best way. With a full hour, we can slow down and really get to know each child and their family. We can catch up on everything from daily routines and favorite foods to new pets and recent vacations that shape their world.

Most 15-month-olds cry through appointments right at the peak of stranger danger…but not this guy! When we have time to chat and not rush, I get to see a child’s full personality, and they get to actually enjoy the visit. This friend started out the visit cautious and clinging to his parents, but after taking the time to slow down and warm up, he and I were stacking blocks on the floor and reading books.

I know how tired you are of hearing about COVID. Me too, y'all, me too. But the fact is that we find ourselves in the middle of a COVID-19 wave again ☹️ If this summer follows the previous three, we should expect approximately 10 to 15% of Americans to get infected. Here are a few tips and reminders I'd like to share: 🌸 If your kid has pink eye, please test. Don't just text me 😏 And yes--ALL pink eye is contagious!! But only the bacterial cases improve with antibiotic drops. 🌸 False negatives at the beginning of infection or common, thanks to viral mutations. Consider swabbing the throat and saliva, as these are positive days before the nose 👃 It is selfish not to test. Be a good human 💚 🌸 Repeat a negative test within 48 hours to be sure. 🌸 Very bold line = very contagious. Faint line = you're at the beginning or end of your infection window. 🌸 Isolate for 5 days from symptom onset. Then retest. If still + wear a mask until neg or 10 days total. 🌸 Want to know where you were likely infected? Wherever you were ~48 hrs prior to symptom onset 🌸 And what's the VACCINE plan for fall??
