I’ve always been drawn to things that challenge me. I love competing, I love being active, and I love hiking somewhere that makes me question why I thought it was a good idea 😆. I think I’ve always had this part of me that wants to push myself and see what I’m capable of.

Pickleball has probably brought that out more than anything. Competing has taught me that you can’t control every outcome. You can only control how you respond. There are going to be bad points, bad days, and moments when you doubt yourself. The challenge is learning how to reset, stay calm, and trust yourself when the pressure is on.

I’ve carried that with me outside of pickleball too. I’m proud of how much I’ve grown, but I’m even more excited to keep growing. I don’t ever want to feel like I’ve “arrived.” I like setting new goals and always having something in front of me to work toward.

That’s also what drew me to STŌA. I’m constantly pushing myself, but I’ve learned that taking a moment to reset and take care of myself is just as important as the work I put in. I love that STŌA fits into that balance. Feeling confident, composed and put together while still being someone who’s always chasing the next challenge.

Life is full in the best way. Raising and newly homeschooling two kids, running my own meal delivery business, and trying to keep up with the million moving pieces that come with both. Most days, the mental load is pretty heavy. I love the life I’ve built, but I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t feel like a lot sometimes.

I’ve learned that taking care of myself can’t always look like some big self care moment. Most of the time, it’s the little, intentional things I can weave into my actual life that bring me back to myself.

Walking down to the beach. Meditating. Moving my body, especially a good pickleball game. Eating food that makes me feel good. Going to see live music with my husband and friends. Dancing, laughing, and remembering to have fun.

Life can be busy and messy and just a lot sometimes. I don’t want to get so caught up in taking care of everything and everyone that I forget to actually enjoy it.

So I look for the little moments. The people and things that ground me, fill me back up, and make me feel like me.
