The October Edition of The JMitFit Report is Here!
We’re officially entering the final stretch of 2026, and this month’s message is simple:
DON’T WAIT FOR JANUARY.
There are still three months left to get stronger, improve your health, build better habits, and finish what you started.
Inside the October Report:
Fall Strength & Power Circuit to keep your training moving forward
Nutrition Corner: One-Pan Maple Dijon Chicken & Sweet Potatoes, a perfect high-protein fall meal
Mindset: Why now is the time to finish what you started
October Challenge: Don’t turn three individual holidays into a three-month vacation from your health
Coach’s Corner: We tackle the myth that lifting heavy automatically makes you “bulky”
Plus, we’re celebrating the victories that DON’T always show up on the scale.
Enjoy the season. Enjoy the holidays when they come. But don’t stop investing in yourself.
2026 isn’t over yet.
There’s still work to do.

I’m sending out the first part of the JMF Performance Pyramid: Commitment.
Commitment is the foundation because everything else we ask of our players builds from it. As coaches, we can create the environment, set expectations, challenge players, and provide encouragement, but ultimately the athlete has to own the work.
As you review this, think about how you can help your players answer three important questions:
1. What do you want?
2. What will it require to get there?
3. What will you do when it gets hard?
Our job isn’t always to give players the answers. Sometimes the better coaching moment is helping them discover their own reasons for doing the work. When the goal belongs to the player, the commitment behind it becomes much more powerful.
Please take some time to read through the attached Commitment piece and look for opportunities to incorporate these conversations into your training environment.
Build the foundation. Own the work. Follow through.

Introducing the JMF Performance Pyramid
Over the next four weeks, I’m going to share something that I believe is just as important to performance as strength, speed, conditioning, and skill:
The mental side of training.
Years ago, I developed a series around four mental skills that help create stronger, more complete athletes. Now I’m bringing that concept back, rebuilt through the lens of Jamel Mitchell Fitness and what I’ve learned through years of training and developing athletes.
I call it the JMF Performance Pyramid.
The pyramid is built on four levels:
COMMITMENT
Do you have the discipline to keep doing the work?
CONFIDENCE
Do you trust yourself and the preparation you’ve put in?
CONCENTRATION
Can you focus on what matters and refocus when distractions come?
COMPOSURE
Can you control your emotions and responses when the pressure rises?
Each week, I’ll break down one level of the pyramid and share practical ways athletes, coaches, parents, and even everyday fitness clients can apply it.
Because physical ability will only take you so far.
The body performs.
The mind determines how much of that performance you can access when it matters.
Four weeks. Four skills. One foundation for developing mental toughness.
The JMF Performance Pyramid starts this week.
