I get asked all the time how to tell what’s really in a supplement. Honestly? Sometimes you just cut it open.
This is our Black Seed Oil softgel: Nigella sativa, made in small batches here in California. The color, the peppery smell: that’s what the seed actually is.
Before you buy any softgel, ask three things: what oil is inside, where it comes from, and how it was made. If a brand can’t tell you, that tells you something too.
Save this for your next supplement run. And tell me: have you ever cut one open?

Head spa at home, five steps and no appointment. The key is the second shampoo: that one is for your scalp. We used Zatik Calming Shampoo + Conditioner (jasmine & wild cherry, made for sensitive scalps). Dry scalp? One wash is enough. 💬 Comment SPA and we’ll send you the step-by-step.

Not all black seed oil is made the same way. Here’s the difference between cold-pressed and supercritical CO₂ extraction, and why we chose CO₂ for Zatik Naturals Black Seed Oil. 💬 Comment CO2 for the full breakdown.

Fall shedding explained. Studies show more hairs enter the resting phase in summer, and they release a few months later, right around now. It’s usually temporary. Gentle cleansing and scalp-first care make wash day easier. 💬 Comment SCALP for our gentle fall wash-day routine.

Black seed oil color myth: the seeds are black, the oil usually isn’t. Real Nigella sativa oil ranges from amber to deep brown depending on the seed, the extraction, and freshness. The label tells you far more than the color. 💬 Comment LABEL and we’ll DM you our black seed oil label checklist.

Getting certified USDA Organic wasn’t a marketing checkbox for us — it meant documenting every ingredient, every lot, every step of the process.
It’s also why you’ll never see us cut corners on what actually goes into a bottle.

Search interest in astaxanthin has genuinely spiked this year, and a lot of it comes with the phrase ‘nature’s internal sunscreen.’ Worth being precise: astaxanthin is a carotenoid antioxidant that may help support your skin against oxidative stress, including some UV-related stress — but it’s not a substitute for sunscreen. Think backup for your skin’s own defenses, not a replacement for SPF.

You’ve probably seen both names on a bottle and wondered if you bought the wrong thing. In almost every case, ‘black seed oil’ and ‘black cumin seed oil’ are the same product — pressed from the same plant, Nigella sativa. The actual thing to watch for is a product that just says ‘cumin,’ with no mention of black seed or Nigella sativa — that’s the kitchen spice, not the supplement. Full breakdown on the blog (link in bio). Comment NIGELLA and I’ll send it straight to you.
