TIXEL: THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE TREATMENT🧡

Tixel is a thermo-mechanical fractional treatment that uses controlled heat to create microscopic treatment zones in the skin. Unlike a laser, Tixel does not use light or radiation. Instead, a heated titanium tip makes brief contact with the skin and transfers thermal energy directly into the tissue.

This controlled thermal injury stimulates the skin’s natural repair response. As the skin heals, it works to improve collagen remodeling, elasticity, texture and overall skin quality.

WHAT CAN TIXEL IMPROVE?

Tixel has been clinically studied for improvements in:

Recent clinical research found significant improvements in roughness, wrinkles, pore size, elasticity, pigmentation and erythema following thermo-mechanical fractional treatment.

WHY IS TIXEL DIFFERENT?

Tixel creates controlled micro-injuries without the use of a laser beam. The treatment can be performed at different intensities depending on the desired outcome and the patient’s skin.

At stronger settings, the thermal energy can create microscopic ablative zones. At lower settings, Tixel can deliver controlled thermal stimulation while preserving the epidermis.

That versatility is one reason Tixel can be used for both skin resurfacing and more subtle rejuvenation.

WHAT ABOUT DOWNTIME?

One of the biggest advantages of Tixel is that the amount of downtime can be tailored to the treatment intensity.

Clinical studies have reported relatively short recovery periods, although stronger treatments can produce more redness, swelling, warmth or superficial crusting. In one early clinical study, average downtime was reported as 0–1 days, with redness resolving in approximately 3.5 days.

Tixel isn’t simply a “tightening treatment.” It is a skin-remodeling treatment.

A SPRAY TAN SHOULD BE MORE THAN JUST COLOR.

At Aggieland Aesthetics, we use professional Norvell spray tan formulas because we believe your skin should look healthy, hydrated and naturally bronzed, not simply darker.

So what is actually happening when you get a spray tan?

The key ingredient is DHA, a sugar-derived tanning active that reacts with amino acids in the outermost layers of your skin to create the appearance of a tan without UV exposure. Norvell also incorporates erythrulose into select formulas, which works alongside DHA to help create a more natural, even-looking result.

But the formula doesn’t stop at DHA.

Norvell’s formulas are designed with skincare in mind, incorporating ingredients such as:

• ALOE VERA to help support hydration and soothe the skin
• VITAMIN C to provide antioxidant support
• VITAMIN E to help protect and condition the skin
• TOMATO + CRANBERRY EXTRACTS for antioxidant-rich skincare benefits
• GLYCERIN + HUMECTANTS to help maintain moisture
• VIO-7™ technology with violet undertones to counter unwanted orange tones

And that last part matters.

Instead of simply adding more brown pigment, Norvell’s color technology is designed to create a cooler, more dimensional bronze. Their Venetian formulas use violet undertones specifically to help neutralize the orange tones that can make a spray tan look artificial.

We also customize your color.

Your skin tone, undertone, desired depth and the occasion you’re tanning for all matter. We don’t believe in a one-shade-fits-all spray tan.

And because the formula continues developing after your appointment, the color you see immediately is not necessarily your final result. The cosmetic bronzer provides an immediate guide while the DHA continues developing over the following hours.
