True by K. Nicole
Specialty DME provider offering nationwide virtual cranial prosthesis care for women experiencing medical hair loss.
Consultations, planning, custom solutions, restoration & insurance guidance. Shortening the gap between hair loss and a holistic solution.
Straight, wavy, curly, or somewhere in between, there is no single “right” texture for medical hair loss.
The better question is: What works for you?
Your lifestyle, energy, mobility, maintenance preferences, daily routine, and what helps you feel most like yourself all deserve consideration. There is no judgment in that decision.
Choosing a cranial prosthesis takes thought, and sometimes you need guidance to consider the things you may not know to ask yet.
That’s what your Planning Session is for.

Naturalness. Realism. Glueless daily wear. Comfort.
Those outcomes don’t happen by accident.
Medical hair loss care is detailed and intentional because we’re planning for more than the day you receive your cranial prosthesis.
We’re considering your measurements, coverage needs, construction, lifestyle, maintenance, and what daily wear actually needs to look like for you.
The goal is not simply beautiful hair. It’s a solution that supports your everyday life and allows you to spend less time thinking about your prosthesis and more time living in it.
We’re planning for all the days you’ll wear it after.
Longevity doesn’t have to mean keeping everything exactly the same.
After months of daily wear, my unit is still serving me well. I simply decided it was time to change the color for the season.
That’s one of the things I appreciate about a quality cranial prosthesis. With the right construction, professional care, and maintenance, there can be room to evolve your look without automatically starting over.
Sometimes the foundation still works.
You just need a pivot.
And when you’re navigating hair loss long-term, having a solution that can continue to support you through different seasons of life matters.
Daily glueless wear is one of the most common goals women bring to us. Planning for it starts before your medical wig or cranial prosthesis is created.
Your materials, fit, construction, and texture should support both the look you love and the care you can comfortably manage. That includes considering your daily routine, stage of treatment, and energy for styling and maintenance.
Glueless does not mean maintenance-free. Your solution should make sense on an ordinary morning, too.

Care in every detail! TRUE🤞🏾♥️
The finished unit is what people see.
The care process is what helps it arrive ready to wear.
For this Access Medical Unit, I walked the client through how the bob length was falling after construction, used her planning-session measurements to guide the final cut, and allowed her to see the details before final styling and preparation.
This is why communication matters in cranial prosthesis care.
Construction matters.
Sizing matters.
Quality matters.
But education, video updates, and guided decisions matter too.
Not every medical hair loss experience includes this level of communication, so it is important to choose a provider whose process supports more than the finished product.
At TRUE by K. Nicole®, the goal is not just for the unit to arrive beautiful.
The goal is for it to arrive understood, intentional, and ready to support daily wear.
Hair is often the first thing we see, but it should not always be the first decision.
Start with your current hair loss, coverage needs, measurements, maintenance ability, lifestyle, and care pathway. The style becomes easier to choose once the
foundation is clear.
If you need help sorting through those decisions, start with the education hub or a Planning Session.
A measurement can look “close enough” on paper and still create the wrong fit.
This client’s original measurements were taken in person by a professional. When we completed her measurements virtually with TRUE, the numbers told a very different story—and the corrected measurements produced the proper fit.
That’s why I teach that measurement accuracy is not simply about whether care is virtual or in person.
Body mechanics, tape placement, head position, proportion, head shape, hair-loss pattern, and coverage all matter.
Measurements tell a story. The provider has to know how to read it.
For clients, this is why planning matters before construction begins.
For providers, this is why learning to measure goes beyond memorizing where to place the tape.
Partial coverage can still have a meaningful place in hair-loss care.
One of the questions that comes up often is whether a partial-coverage solution can still be considered within medical wig or cranial prosthesis care. The answer can be yes.
The amount of scalp being covered is only one part of the picture. Hair-loss pattern, coverage needs, fit, construction, comfort, intended use, and the purpose of the solution all matter when determining what is appropriate for the individual wearing it.
Sometimes, partial coverage is exactly where care should begin.
Because hair-loss care is not about choosing the most coverage. It is about choosing the solution that appropriately supports the person wearing it.
This may be one of the most important distinctions in this entire conversation: the level of care surrounding the solution.
A medical wig may involve a more general hair-replacement process depending on what the client needs.
Cranial prosthesis care may become much more individualized — including planning, measurements, fitting, construction decisions, client education, and ongoing support.
The hair matters. But so does the care surrounding it.
For clients, understanding the level of care can help you better understand what you’re receiving.
For providers, it’s a reminder that providing a solution can extend beyond the product itself.
Both pathways can support medical hair loss. The goal is understanding what level of care the individual client needs.
Provider practices and care pathways may vary. This series reflects how I approach and explain these concepts within my own practice.
