Yes, we work on your skin in here. But sometimes that hour is about so much more than skin.

It’s a place to close your eyes, exhale, talk if you want to, be quiet if you don’t—and let someone take care of you for a change.

And after my last client leaves and the room looks a little like this… I’m reminded how many stories these walls have heard over the years. 💗

👀 What I see that you don’t…

When you look in the mirror, you may see wrinkles, pores, dark spots, breakouts or all the little things you wish you could change.

I see something different.

I’m looking at your skin barrier. Hydration. Texture. Inflammation. Pigmentation. And all the little clues your skin gives me about what it actually needs.

My job isn’t to point out everything “wrong” with your skin. It’s to help you understand it, take care of it, and get it as healthy as we can. 💕

4 DAYS of giving the skin what it actually needed. 👏🏼

Different lighting, so I’m not going to pretend this is a perfectly controlled before & after — but you can absolutely see we’re moving in the right direction.

When her skin came to me, her barrier was clearly struggling. Redness, dryness, flaking and irritation.

So what did we do? We didn’t attack it. We didn’t exfoliate it harder. We didn’t throw a bunch of actives at it.

We calmed it down. We simplified. We focused on supporting that barrier and gave her skin a chance to HEAL. 💗

This is only 4 days later.

We still have healing to do, but THIS is why sometimes the best thing you can do for your skin is stop fighting it and start listening to it.

32 YEARS of waxing…and my skin can STILL do this. 😂👇🏼

Let’s talk about those little bumps that sometimes show up immediately after a wax.

That’s often a histamine response. When the hair is pulled from the follicle, the skin can react with temporary redness, swelling, itching, or these little raised bumps.

I’ve been waxing for 32 years and it still happens to me sometimes — today it showed up around both my lip AND brow.

Mine typically settles down within about 20 minutes, while some people may stay reactive a little longer.

So if you look in the mirror right after your wax and think, “WHAT HAPPENED TO MY FACE?!” 😂 — don’t immediately panic. Give your skin a little time to calm down.

Sometimes skin is just being skin. 💗

Of course, significant or worsening swelling, widespread hives, or difficulty breathing is different and needs medical attention.

Good skincare isn’t about trying to look 25 forever.

I’m 45. I have lines when I smile. My skin has texture. And I’m okay with that. 💗

My goal—for myself and my clients—is to age gracefully, not chase perfection.

We can soften lines, improve texture, stimulate collagen and keep our skin healthy and glowing… while still looking like ourselves.

Getting older is happening either way—we might as well GLOW while we do it. 😉✨

Hopping on this trend 💕💗 and apparently ChatGPT thinks my personality needed a skincare-loving, slightly sassy duck sidekick 😂 Meet Lulu. Honestly… the pink robe, sunglasses, skincare tool, and “Aging Gracefully” cup? I can’t even argue with it. 😂🦆✨

As women, we’re really good at putting ourselves at the bottom of the list. We tell ourselves, “Maybe next week… when things slow down.”

But when does life actually slow down?

Sometimes self-care is a facial. Sometimes it’s sitting in silence for an hour. Sometimes it’s saying no, taking a nap, going for a walk, or doing something simply because it makes you happy.

Whatever it looks like for you, you don’t have to earn it.

You’re allowed to take care of yourself, too. ❤️

And if your version of self-care happens to include a warm bed, hot towels, glowing skin and an hour where nobody needs anything from you… I know a place. 😉
