Staff Update 💜

We wanted to let our clients know that Michelle is no longer with Purple Sarah Day Spa.

If you have an upcoming appointment with Michelle, we will be reaching out as soon as possible to reschedule. As always, we will do our very best to accommodate those who wish to continue their services with us and minimize any inconvenience.

We will still be able to accommodate gel overlays and basic nail art when pre-booked. However, we will no longer be offering extreme nail art or polygel tips. We are also excited to introduce Gel-X in the upcoming months!

On a positive note, we have three new staff members preparing to begin training to help us keep up with the growing demand for our services! We look forward to introducing them soon.

We appreciate your continued patience, understanding, and support.

🔥Happy Friday Friends! We've shown you some of the final Hot Firefighter Pet Calendar photos, and now here's a peek behind the scenes. 🔥 The hardest part of this photoshoot is getting dogs and cats to look at the camera. Cheese, squeakers, kazoos and feather wands helped. Sometimes we just got lucky. A HUGE THANKS to our friends at @brattleborotv for capturing BTS and making this hype reel for us. 📆Calendars are landing NEXT WEEK. Here are the details on how to get yours. PRE-ORDERS: If you pre-ordered OR would like to purchase one from us in-person, come to the shelter on the following dates between 12 noon and 2 p.m. We will roll out more dates as needed. Friday, October 16 Saturday, October 17 Sunday, October 18 If you have already pre-ordered and need your calendar(s) shipped, we will send out the first batch by Monday, October 19. We will email you when your calendars are on the way. PURCHASE IN-PERSON We'll will be selling calendars at our Book Lovers Outdoor Book Sale on 10/18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will also be available to purchase starting on Monday, October 19, at the following local businesses (more to come): @onestopcps @purplehsarah @twiceuponatimevt @morninggloriousvintage @everyonesbooks The Wilmington Vermont Fire Department is having a signing party with the firefighters on Wednesday, October 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. Calendars will be available for sale at the Wilmington Fire Department anytime after this date. They are accepting additional donations for WCHS. We're working to schedule signing party events at the Dummerston Fire Department and Rockingham Fire & Rescue as well. More details to follow. Our Hot Firefighter models are selling them to friends and family! If you know one of these amazing people, ask them to buy a signed copy! Don’t forget about An Evening of Storytelling, at the Pool Nature Center tomorrow, Sunday, October the 4th! Join local storytellers (Niki Wolfhame Katrick, Amy Hyatt, Djeli Celestia and Reily Mhera Mumpton) for an enthralling evening of fables, tales and stories. Doors open at 5:00, and we’ll gather around the fire at 5:30.

Please dress to warmly, we will be spending the evening outside.

Admission by donation. Donations go towards the care of our non-releasable animal ambassadors, as well as supporting our educational programs.

Our Halo FX booth uses dry salt therapy (halotherapy), dispersing microscopic particles of pure, dry salt while you sit back, relax and breathe normally.

Fine salt particles may help loosen mucus and support your body’s natural airway-clearing process, potentially making breathing feel more comfortable.

Some people incorporate halotherapy into their wellness routines during allergy, congestion and cold seasons.

Ten quiet minutes to sit, breathe and unplug can be a pretty great reset all by itself!

✨ AND LET’S TALK SKIN!
Those microscopic salt particles also settle onto exposed skin. Halotherapy is sometimes used as a complementary wellness practice for dry, irritated or inflammation-prone skin, including concerns such as eczema and psoriasis. Some people report improvements in itching, flaking and overall skin comfort. Research is still limited, so we consider this a potential wellness benefit — not a treatment or cure.

💜 WHY A BOOTH INSTEAD OF THE SALT CAVE WE ORIGINALLY PLANNED?

Yes, the original plan really was a full salt cave! But after researching the massive expense, potential impact of salt on the building and HVAC, and how difficult a permanent room would be to move, the booth made MUCH more sense.

There’s another big benefit: TIME!

Large salt-room sessions are commonly 30–60 minutes. Because our Halo FX is a much smaller, concentrated space, we’re starting at just 10 minutes, with the option to extend up to 20 minutes.

Less time. Less impact on our building. Easier to maintain. Easier to fit into your day.
