Pain may be the reason you call, but your goals help guide the process. Whether you want to work comfortably, return to exercise, travel, dance, or simply get through the day with fewer limitations, we want to understand what matters to you.

**Meet Rachael Yelton, LMT!** 👋

Rachael knows how much chronic pain can interrupt the life you love. In 2017, debilitating neck and arm pain made it difficult for her to continue her work as a leather artist. Finding relief through hands-on care sparked a new direction: she enrolled at the Center for Neurosomatic Studies to learn the *why* behind pain and how to help others.

Today, Rachael brings that personal understanding to her work as a neurosomatic therapist. She has a special interest in helping people with migraines and work-related injuries, and she also helps teach future therapists at the Center for Neurosomatic Studies.

Patients describe Rachael as gentle and thorough. She understands that the goal is bigger than getting through an appointment—it’s getting back to work, movement, and the activities that matter to you.

Outside the treatment room, Rachael still creates art and enjoys social dancing, drum circles, cooking, and traveling. Family and faith are central to her life.

We’re glad to have Rachael on The Overton Clinic team. If her story sounds familiar, book a visit and let’s talk about what you’ve been experiencing.

Happy International Coffee Day! ☕️

The secret behind Eddy’s focus? We can’t officially say it’s coffee—but the evidence is pretty convincing.

Whether he’s starting his day or taking a well-earned break between patients, a good cup of coffee is always worth savoring.

Here’s to the simple rituals that help keep us going! How do you take your coffee?

Pain can feel unpredictable until you begin noticing the pattern.

For one week, write down:
- Where and when the pain appears
- What you were doing before it began
- What other tension, numbness, or movement changes occurred
- What made it better or worse
- Which activity the pain prevented or shortened

These details give your practitioner a clearer picture than a pain number alone. Bring your notes to your appointment so we can understand both the symptoms and their impact.

Save this post for your next flare-up.

Where you feel pain may not tell the whole story.

Posture, movement habits, previous injuries, and muscular compensation can create patterns that affect other parts of the body. That is why repeatedly treating only the painful spot may produce incomplete or short-lived results.

At The Overton Clinic, we assess how the body is working together and provide care based on what we find.

The goal is not to chase symptoms. It is to better understand the pattern behind them.

For Melinda, treating chronic pain starts with one important question:

What has pain stopped you from doing?

Maybe it’s exercising, traveling, dancing, working comfortably, or simply enjoying time with the people you love. Those losses matter—and they help guide the care you receive.

As a therapist at The Overton Clinic, Melinda has spent more than eight years helping patients understand why pain may keep returning. Her approach begins with listening, followed by a careful assessment of the postural and muscular patterns that may be contributing to the problem.

Melinda is also a massage educator and award-winning research author, but what matters most to her is helping patients get back to the lives they miss.

What would you love to get back to doing?

Pain is personal, and its impact deserves to be heard. A thoughtful assessment can help identify patterns that may be contributing to why it keeps returning.

Save this post—or share it with someone who has quietly adjusted their life around pain.

Chronic pain doesn't only affect how your body feels. It can change how long you stand, how far you walk, how well you sleep, and whether you participate in the activities you love.

Those small daily compromises can gradually start to feel normal—but they are still worth talking about.

At The Overton Clinic, we listen to what pain has changed, assess the larger muscular and postural pattern, and build care around what we find.

🧜‍♀️ Even mermaids need bodywork!

You never quite know who—or what—might show up on the treatment table at The Overton Clinic. 😄

Whether your job has you sitting at a desk, standing all day, competing on the dance floor, training in the gym…or spending your days under the sea, your body adapts to the demands you place on it.

Our therapists look at how those demands may be affecting your movement, muscle tension, and overall function, then tailor treatment to the person on the table.

Because every body has a story.

Even one with a tail. 🧜‍♀️
