This was a 5-hour project with Ana Maria Moncada, and we spent almost the entire time working on her hair!

And no… I don’t do color anymore. Sorry to those of you who would love for me to do yours.

That said, I have to admit… I’m truly proud of how this turned out!

These are just a few of the techniques I use to create this haircut.

Every technique has a purpose. When you understand why you’re using it, your haircut becomes more predictable, intentional, and customized to your client.

This has been, by far, one of my favorite haircut transformations of the year… if not the favorite!

I’m sharing it again for those of you who are new and weren’t around when I first posted it.

This haircut transformation required a lot of internal layering. And yes… it grows out beautifully.

She can wear it curly or straight, and it works both ways.

And before anyone asks… yes, she’s been able to style it with no problem. I’ve seen her several times since this haircut. This is actually an older video.

She flew all the way from Puerto Rico to Tampa for this haircut transformation.

She was more than ready to go short, and I was more than ready to cut it.

Moments like these remind me that a haircut is about so much more than hair. Sometimes it’s about trusting someone with your story, embracing change, and finally becoming the version of yourself you’ve been waiting to meet.

I’d say the trip was worth it.
